using a Google Data Studio custom connector as a user who has never used the custom connector before

Procedure

  1. Switch into the directory for the custom connector
  2. Run npm run try_production
  3. Finish the wizard in the browser to create your new data source
  4. In your report, go to “Resources” > “Manage added data sources”
  5. Click the “Add a Data Source” button at the bottom of the list of sources
  6. Switch to the “My data sources” tab
  7. Select the source from the list and click the “Add” button in the bottom right

If the source is not shown in the list…

You may have created the source as a different user.

  1. Switch back to the window/tab where you created the source
  2. Share the data source with your other user
  3. From that user, open the data source and allow it access

Once that’s done, resume the above procedure from step 4.
