Ambria had her call with her mom which showed me that, by splitting out the family shared vault I had broken the template. I took some time to try to fix it and further realized there is no perfect way to share part of a vault. You either completely split out a vault to share which means you can no longer link to and from your main vault or you put it inside the main vault which means your paths in the nested vault will work either in the main or the nested vault. It’s a compromise either way.
We had a call with my parents after that, and I realized I’ll either need to start using the integrated camera in the Macbook for that or keep the old Logitech web cam. I’m not excited about either prospect.
I played Death’s Door today. Boy, that’s really a nice little package. Great art and music and really satisfying combat. Secrets are fun to find. Really great game. The writing is really fun too.
I played a little Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night too. I was hoping to bring in my save, but apparently you have to decode it, hex edit it, and re-encode it to make it work. I just wasn’t interested in jumping through those hoops, so I started a brand new game. The game is fun enough I’m happy to play through the early parts again.
I worked with Dmitry on one of his blog posts. We punched it up quite a bit. He also shared some interesting things he’s been learning from a lecture series with Brandon Sanderson on YouTube on writing fantasy fiction. Cool stuff.
Ambria is planning to spend time with Jacob tomorrow. She has a decent plan, and it sounds like she’s going to stay safe. It’s important to be vigilant with the COVID-19 virus Delta variant going around. I’m hoping we can all just avoid that thing altogether. It may be hard once she goes back to school. We’ll see what happens.
