Yesterday afternoon (2021-08-27) at 3:29pm, Emily emailed addressing Ambria to ask if they could do her Saturday morning call 20 minutes earlier, at 8:40am instead of 9am. Ambria agreed.
This morning, everyone got up earlier to accommodate the earlier call time. At 8:29am, Emily messaged on Skype:
Hi Ambria. I am not getting good service right now. Can you give me some times later today you will be free to talk?
Ambria replied at 8:47am:
I’ll figure out a time and let you know
Ambria messaged against at 2:27pm:
Hi mom. I can talk at 3:30 my time today. Let me know if this works for you.
Emily did not reply.
Ambria tried calling her on Skype anyway at 3:29pm, 3:31pm, and 3:33pm. The first time, Skype said Emily was not online. On the second and third attempts, the call rang through and Emily’s status showed as online, but she did not answer.
At 5:24pm, Emily messaged on Skype:
Hi Ambria. I’m sorry I missed your calls. I’m traveling and my car charger broke so my phone died. You can call me if you are able.
Ambria called her at 6:17pm and she answered.
Emily asked if Ambria can hear her and asked what Ambria is doing. She just finished eating and watching TV. Emily said she would have to leave her camera off because she has 8% (battery life). Ambria asked if Emily can see her. Emily said yes and that she has a blue shirt on.
Emily asked what she had for dinner. Ambria had a tuna melt with fries. Emily said that sounds good and asked if Ambria liked it. Ambria doesn’t really like tuna but it was OK. Emily said she doesn’t like seafood either.
Emily said she got Ambria’s message about Ambria’s debit card. She said the bank took the money back to Emily’s account. She said Ambria has to make an in-store purchase first before she can take out money at an ATM and they can ”go from there.” Ambria asked when the money will be there again. Emily asked when Ambria needs it. Ambria said she would like to order her shoes in time to get them before school starts. Emily asked if she would need to do that tomorrow or Monday. Ambria said tomorrow. Ambria asked if no one can use the card right now or if it’s just that she can’t use the card. Emily said she checked it today and the balance for Ambria is gone. The balance for Emily’s side of the account is zero too. She has to put the money back in.
Emily asked if she’s going to get the black Vans. Yes. Emily said those would be cute.
Ambria told her she finished another drawing. Emily asked if she has it. Ambria tried to show it but couldn’t get the camera to flip. Emily was laughing. Ambria said the button to flip it isn’t where it usually is. Emily said that happens to her in Skype too. Ambria turned the phone so that the selfie camera was showing the drawing. Emily said she could see it and described what she was seeing.
Ambria turned the phone back to focus on her and told her mom she got some of her clothes in the mail. She showed her the denim dress. Emily asked if it has the strap with the button on it like overalls. Ambria said no and showed her. Ambria showed her the jeans. Emiliy asked if they were “skinnies.” Yes. Ambria showed her the black shirt and black jeans. Emily asked if they are skinny jeans too. Yes. Ambria thinks more clothes will arrive soon. Emily asked if they were from ebay or threadup. Those were from ebay. Emily asked if she bought women’s or juniors. Ambria said they don’t have a juniors department, so you just search for women’s extra small. Ambria has a brand that she knows is juniors and she knows the sizes. Emily asked if she’s tried the clothes on. Yes.
Emily asked if she goes to school on Wednesday. Yes. Emily asked if she goes a full day. She starts at the second half and finishes the day, so she will have to change the call time. Emily said that’s fine and to let her know.
Emily asked what she’s going to wear. Ambria doesn’t know yet. Emily asked if she’s going to walk or take the bus. Ambria’s going to walk since it’s two blocks. Emily asked if she’s nervous. Ambria is, but she knows everyone else is too. Emily said she hopes Ambria has a good time and not to be too nervous.
Ambri asked her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emiliy said she will. She apologized for changing the call time several times. She will let Ambria know when she has the money in the bank account.
