Manga are downloaded to ~/Documents/books/Manga

Downloading

The easiest/best/most convenient method seems to be to download from the nyaa.si torrent tracker. Download to ~/Documents/books/mangas.

Previous method using mangal

Note: I have deleted mangal because it doesn’t seem to be able to keep the different manga straight. When I download one, it puts it in the directory for another, and it doesn’t seem to accurately reflect what it has already downloaded.

Downloading manga is done using the CLI tool mangal.

  1. Start mangal
  2. Press tab to select all sources and enter to continue to the search
  3. Type the search query and press enter

The search may fail on the first attempt. If you see an error message, press esc to back out of it and press enter again to retry. The second attempt usually works.

Configuring Downloader

  • Use the command mangal config info to get a list of all configuration variables
  • To update one of the values, run mangal config set -k <config-key> -v <config-value>
  • To write a new config file with the updated values, run mangal config write -f
