I made some more changes this morning to optimize my Ergodox EZ keyboard layout. The best way to figure out the layout is by using it. I’m having fun optimizing it, and I’m starting to slowly build the muscle memory to type on it properly.

I proposed to Scot Muncaster my solution for the demo passwords, and he was on board. I’ll start implementing that today.

I worked on getting my VPN access working for the Design Media Apple project today. Finally got everything together after more than 2 hours of trying.

I migrated West Seattle Food Bank’s web site to a new host. Went to bed while waiting for DNS changes to propagate. I woke up later to find those appear to have propagated, at least to me at this point, and the site is working. Looks like it might have a couple of visual bugs I’ll need to look into, but the site appears to work after adding a LetsEncrypt SSL cert.

I made some really nice updates to my Ergodox EZ keyboard config today, and it’s really coming together. I’ve got some really cool stuff going with arrows being on another layer on my Vim direction keys, Option-Arrows, and word delete. Super-happy with the way that’s coming along. The key was to change less than I tried to last time I attempted to migrate to this keyboard. Last time, I tried switching to a whole new keyboard layout, and it proved too much of a hurdle to overcome.

We have scheduled to go look at a townhome tomorrow. It’s part of the same block as the first one I looked at when we resumed our search. It’s pretty nice. I wish it had A/C, but it’s otherwise a pretty good fit, if Tiffany thinks it will work for her. We’ll see what happens during our viewing.
