Entry

Scot discovered a new Cornerstone OnDemand API today called the Data Exporter. OData has a concept of navigation properties that links different kinds of objects together. The documented endpoints in the new API list some navigation properties, but it’s unclear how to use them. The base objects aren’t really useful for our purposes.

I made some breakthroughs on a connector using the Reporting API we’ve been using. Still some work to do but progress is happening.

I watched an episode of Danny O’Dwyer’s new show on Giant Bomb, and it was pretty good. It’s called Guilty Treasures, and it explores an unpopular game a GB staffer or adjacent person loves. Jeff was the first person featured, and I got to learn about a pretty neat old Sega Genesis game that I had never heard of. Danny played a bunch of it and talked about it. He explored some of the history and the newer installments. He and Jeff had a conversation about it. It was good wholesome fun.

I put together my new desktop video studio today. It turned out pretty well, and I’m excited to use it. It has an arm to hold my laptop that will replace my current laptop stand, and being able to have my mirrorless camera on my desk will replace my webcam, assuming my Mac can drive it without catching fire. Time will tell. I’m very excited about having good audio without having a microphone in frame.

I got in a strength workout today. I need to do those more often. I lean too heavily into cycling workouts. I took a class from Chase Tucker, and I really liked him. He wasn’t corny, but he was inspirational. I really appreciated his vibe.
