Hey Devon, I attended the freeCodeCamp hackathon meetup in April. We chatted for a few minutes. I mentioned interest in attempting freelancing. I would love to have a chat with you and I’m hopeful to gain some insight. I asked myself what questions to ask you. Can I get the answers from Mr. Google? Maybe. Maybe not? But still, I think there is something to be gained through human interaction. I’m not sure I have knowledge I can impart to you, but certainly, seeing people like you and Marius offering time to people… that’s something I want to emulate.
I’ve been coding on and off for 2 years now. I’m currently in a phase where I’m coding consistently and I would like to keep this momentum going. I work Monday to Sunday at 3 different jobs making around $15 an hour. But don’t worry, it isn’t bad as it sounds! I work security at Microsoft and Amazon. I’m hitting 2 to 5 hours of coding time a day at these 2 places (trying to figure out how to consistently get 4 hours or more a day to code at these 2 jobs). My third job, I teach kids to code after school at different schools from 0 to 3 times a week.
Anyways, I’m really interested to see if the freelancing path is something I’m cut to do, and I think talking to someone like you might give me a better sense of it.
Thank you for your time. I’m hopeful to hear back soon from you.
