A little bit of background about me.
I am a 39year young woman from the netherlands.
I was a monitoring tooling expert at a large bank for about 16 years. 2 years ago I decided that I wanted something more and different.
I always had a thing for web and got into webdevelopment. I landed a scholarship from udacity with google for frontend development and finished it february this year. It was making projects fully remote.
Halfway through the scholarship I was offered a job as a junior frontenddev.l working with angular. The catch was that i would do this half of my time and the other time i would do customer support.
The company is small and only 6 people. The other frontenddev quit a month after i started. That makes me the only frontender now.
So after a year now i need more, i don’t have anyone to consult or discuss anything with, also don’t even now how I am doing codewise. It works but hey if it is any good, don’t know.
Als 50/50 with customer support is also more like 75/25 and i really dont want this. Also alongside doing the scrummaster role there so coding time is minimal.
So i went out looking for another job, a larger company. Did a code test and 3 interviews. They were really enthusiastic, but didn’t follow through with an offer. Reason; our clients want more experience so we can’t place you right now.
I am not new in tech only in the dev-area, know all the workprocures like agile, scrum etcetera.
And i don’t want to be treated like this by managers or hiring managers anymore. So I decided I want to do it all myself. I still have my job at the small company, but i guess i want to start my own next to it and when i generate enough income quit. (Have two kids to feed so have to have a basis)
That is my story so far..
