Came in with my goal being to make our content more accessible
Feels like we’re pulling in the opposite direction of that at every juncture
Don’t think the problem is we’re not squeezing enough out of our community; it’s that our community isn’t large enough
Wanted to work on the content pipeline
Built a content calendar and a process kanban in Notion
Was inclined to flesh out the ideas list with a bunch more ideas, point people to it and the calendar, and have them start signing ideas to work on… or suggest particular ideas to people.
Problem is, those tools don’t help because I don’t feel empowered to steer the content.
I can give someone a topic to write on, but we may come back in later and say that’s no good, write something else.
People are learning not to trust me because the stuff I tell them gets undone later. (This has been happening while working with Dijana. I will say, “Do X” and she will reply, “Let’s wait for Yury and see what he says.“)
Not trying to take control away, but I need something more to be able to drive this.
I thought you had a loose goal you wanted to accomplish with the content, but it appears that you have much more rigid ideas for the exact shape you want the content to take.
Lack of clarity:
Why was the previous version of Dijana’s post bad? Does every blog post need code, and why?
Why did we need to keyword-stuff in the title? Why wasn’t the blog post title good without pgvector and EdgeDB in it?
