Ambria had to call late tonight because she had a job interview.
Emily asked what she’s doing. She just got home. Emily asked how it went. Ambria paused for a long time and said she isn’t a very strong swimmer. Emily said she didn’t know she would have to take a swim test. Ambria said the interview part went great but the swim test didn’t. Emily said, “Oof.” She asked what Ambria had to do and if she had to swim the rest of the pool. Yes, and Ambria described the rest. Emily asked how many strokes she knows. Ambria said they told her which ones to do. Emily said she only knows two.
Emily asked if she knows they didn’t hire her. Ambria said the person was afraid she would get hurt in the pool. Emily asked if she got to demonstrate her CPR abilities. No. Emily said that was a plus.
Emily asked how far each of the jobs are from her house. 15 minutes for the YMCA and 5 for the salon. Emily asked when she will know about it. They’re supposed to call Ambria about shadowing someone.
Emily said she hates Ambria didn’t get the job. Ambria thinks it’s for the best given how she feels after doing the test. Emily told a story about her swim lessons. Ambria said the good news is that she can swim.
Emily told about a guy that came to their community pool and got out a bunch of equipment to swim with.
Emily asked about the dance. Ambria said it was a bunch of teenagers in a room with music playing. Sometimes, they would jump up and dance. Emily said it was supposed to be fun and didn’t sound like much fun. Emily asked if she got any pictures. Yes. Emily asked if she could send them to her to show to Reda. Emily asked if she got her clothes in time, if she had “wardrobe malfunctions,” and several other questions about the clothes. She asked if Ambria danced and how. Mostly jumping up and down. They danced to YMCA. Emily asked if she had fun. Yes. Emily asked if they had snacks. They were supposed to, but Ambria doesn’t know where they would have been. Emily asked if they had any drinks. Ambria didn’t see them. Emily said she would “starve and thirst to death.” Emily said it “was what it was.” Ambria had fun being with her friends. Emily asked if she saw them all. She asked if Ambria saw Summer and asked what she wore. Ambria described it.
Emily said she will sleep “good” tonight. She said she’s glad Ambria had fun at the dance. She said the outcome of the swim interview wasn’t what she expected. Ambria said she’s disappointed with her skills. Emily said she shouldn’t be because she wasn’t aware of her capabilities. Emily asked if she wore her earrings in the pool. No. Emiliy said she should lie down before she “falls over.”
Ambria asked her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said she will and reminded her to send the pictures. She asked if she could email them. Yes. Emily will show them to Reda. Emily asked when she will shadow for the salon. She asked what there was to shadow. Ambria doesn’t know. Emily said she is proud of her for doing the interviews and said she “couldn’t have done as good as you, even at 17.” She asked if they would talk at the normal time Saturday. Yes.
