Ambria got out of her group therapy a little later than her call time. Ambria called Emily on Skype, but Skype said she was offline. Ambria immediately retried and the call rang.
Emily asked if she’s having a hot dog. No, it’s a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on a bun. Emily said she just finished some margherita pizza.
Emily asked if she’s watched news about the hurricane. No, Ambria didn’t know about it. Emily said it hit the west coast of Florida. She said it changed course. Emily said she’s watching TikToks about it. She said people are floating in inflatable pools inside their homes.
Emily asked how her meeting went. It was good. They’re merging with another group because hers is getting smaller. Emily asked how much longer she’ll be in the meetings. Ambria said it’s supposed to be 4-6 weeks, but she hasn’t heard yet when she will be out.
Emily asked how school is going. It’s pretty good. Emily asked if she finished her ceramics project. Yes. Emily asked how it turned out. It’s not completely done but they’re drying before the kiln right now.
Emily reminded her to show her ID. Ambria said it’s upstairs. Emily said she could show it Saturday. Ambria said they’re making something out of coils now. It’s a coil pot. It doesn’t have to be a pot. She described the process. Emily said it made sense. Emily asked how you’d do the bottom. Ambria described what you might do.
Emily said she still hasn’t made it to the holocaust museum even though she wants to. She asked if Ambria has been to the one here. No. Emily said it was part of the city pass and named other attractions that were part of it. She said you get three attractions for the price of one. She thinks Seattle has one. Ambria told her teenagers can get into museums for a reduces price. Emily said it seems like they have a lot of “things” for “young people.”
Emily asked if she’s seen any friends at school. Ambria talked to Galaxy today. Emily asked what she was doing. Eating her lunch. Emily asked if she “wasn’t going to move away on (her) too, was she?” No. Emily asked about summer. No.
Emily asked her favorite pizza. Pepperoni. Emily asked if she likes any vegetables. No. Emily likes margherita because she likes basil.
Ambria told her she had a test in 6th period on safety and sanitation. Emily asked fi that was for “food stuff.” Yes. Emily asked some of the rules. Emily asked if she’s heard of the double hand wash rule. No. Ambria said after you use the bathroom, you wash your hands, and you wash again when you get to the kitchen. They learned the proper way to clean dishes and wash hands in the food industry. Emily said it’s good they had that down. They had to learn that to get her food service cards. Emily asked if she has one. Yes. She took the test a long time ago but didn’t get it yet because it costs money. They get it for free as part of the class. Emily asked if that means she can work in food service. Yes.
Emily commented on Ambria’s jewelry.
Ambria asked her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said she will. They talked about French. Emily asked if she’s the star student. Especially not since they have a French exhange student in the class and students who went to a bilingual school and who went to France for a year. Ambria’s one of the only seniors. The rest are “overachieving juniors.” Emily said she was just joking and Ambria doesn’t need to be the star student.
