Emily asked what she’s doing. Ambria just had a baked potato. Emily had a Publix sub. Emily asked what she had on the potato. Butter, salt, and pepper. Emily asked if she didn’t have sour cream. We don’t have any. Emily asked if she likes cheese on it. Ambria doesn’t know. Emily said it makes it “real good.”
Emily has done “all kind of things related to water:” tubing, in the lake, to the aquarium… Ambria said she likes tubing. Emily said she likes it because it’s really relaxing. Ambria thinks they did different kinds of tubing. Emily asked her what kind. Ambria did the kind where you get pulled by a boat. Emily did the kind where you float down the river. Emily asked if she fell off. No. Emily saw a “water snake” and some kind of bird. Her favorite thing at the aquarium was the penguins. Emily asked if we have a nice aquarium. Ambria said we have a pretty big one on the pier.
Emily noted Ambria’s white nails and asked if she likes them. Yes. Emily asked if she got the pedicure. No. Emily said she still could.
Ambria said she hasn’t been doing anything. Emily said she hasn’t either. Emily said the water is cold on the little pigeon river. She said she got into some mini rapids. She said it was “nothing crazy.” She thinks Ambria would like it. Emily said it gets shallow and you get stuck on rocks sometimes. Emily said the lake is warm. Ambria said she doesn’t like cold water. Emily said she likes the pool best. She said the lake can be really deep. She didn’t get a sunburn. She was “determined not to.” She said she wore SPF 70.
Emily asked her Ambria’s “stuff” is going. Ambria said she’s going to be finishing soon and moving to intensive outpatient. Emily asked if it’s still a lot of time during the day. 3 hours, 3 times a week. Ambria said it’s online. Emily asked if that’s good. Ambria said she might prefer in-person, but at least we don’t have to transport. Emily asked when she starts. Ambria’s official last day is the 30th, but the insurance may cut her off sooner. We haven’t heard back from the insurance yet. Emily asked if the people at the place think that’s best. Ambria said they want her to stay until the 30th. Emily said maybe she will get to. Hopefully.
Emily asked what she had for lunch. PB&J. Emily said her arms are sore from swimming. She said it’s supposed to be good exercise. Emily asked if she had fun talking to Reda. Yes. Emily said she enjoyed it too. Emily asked if she looks the same. Pretty much. Emily said she said how pretty Ambria is and how grown-up she looks.
Emily asked if she’s “thought about anything for school.” Ambria just realized today it starts in two weeks. Emily asked if she has a supply list. No. Emily asked if she can get one. Ambria said it’s not on the web site. Emily said they might be lagging behind.
Ambria said Nana and Poppy are coming on Sunday. Emily said she’s glad and noted they had to put it off a few weeks. Emily asked if they’re staying a week. Yes. Emily asked if she will take them downtown. Probably. Emily asked if she’ll take them to the beach. Probably. Emily asked if she will take them to get boba tea. Maybe.
Emily asked if she’s had any boba tea lately. She had some a few days ago. Emily asked if she’s had the Starbucks cold brew. Ambria thinks so. Emily asked if she likes it. Ambria doesn’t remember. Emily doesn’t like it. Ambria was thinking of the frapuccinos in the bottles.
Ambria asked her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said she will.
Ambria said she should get off the phone. Emily said she will talk on Saturday.
