Ambria asked her mom if she could change their call time because she is having friends over.

Emily asked how she is. She is good. Emily asked where the pizza is from. She told her it’s boxed from Whole Foods. She asked if Ambria made it. Ambria said no.

Emily said she heard about the program she’s going to be doing. She asked how Ambria felt about it. Ambria said she doesn’t want her summer to be taken up with that, but she knows it will be good for her. Emily asked if she has a choice. Ambria said if she didn’t go, she would get worse and probably have to go to something she likes less. Emily asked how it’s the best fit. Ambria told her they did an assessment and this was the program they recommended. Emily said something else I wasn’t able to transcribe. Emily asked what it’s called. Ambria told her it’s Pathlight. Emily asked if she will be able to talk to her while she’s at it. Ambria isn’t sure. She knows she won’t be able to have her phone, and she will have only one visit per week. Emily asked if if will take up her whole summer. Ambria told her this part is a month and the partial hospitalization will take up another month, so yes. Emily asked how it works with school. Ambria told her they have a part of the day dedicated to keeping up with schoolwork. Emily asked if she has to take her clothes and if she stays 24/7 for a month. Yes. Emily asked if she has her own psychiatrist and if it’s not the one she has now. Ambria acknowledged that is right. Emily asked if she can decorate her room. Ambria said they have a pinboard they can put pictures on. Emily asked if she can write letters. Yes. Emily said she has her address. Emily asked what she wants to learn. Ways of coping and… she’s not exactly sure. Emily said she thinks she will learn. She thinks she will “learn a whole lot.” She said she thinks it’s good and everyone can benefit from counseling. She said it’s good to have someone who doesn’t have “a horse in the race” to give unbiased advice.

Emily said she will have to leave Juice World behind. She said she’s sure she’s not too excited about it, but she’s “a very smart person” and she thinks Ambria will get used to it.

Emily is glad she got to visit with her friend today. She asked if Ambria had to tell them. Yes. Emily said she bets that was rough but that they would understand. Yes. Emily said she hopes they have good food. Ambria agrees. Emily just got done having a veggie burger with green beans and Reda had a fourth of July meal. Emily named some people that came. She said they had hamburgers and hot dogs. Reda had a good time.

Emily asked if she has questions or thoughts for her. No, Ambria’s just been busy packing and figuring things out. Emily said she’s excited to hear from her, but she’ll talk to her whenever she can. Emily asked if Tiffany and I will go to see her every week. Yes. Emily said she loves her and will be thinking about her. She said she’ll get “straightened out.”

Emily asked if she’s taking her glasses with her. Yes, she just doesn’t wear them at the house because “there’s nothing far away to see.” Emily asked if they hurt her eyes. Ambria said yes, if she uses them to see up close.

Emily asked if she watched fireworks on the fourth. Yes, she could see some from the roof. Emily asked if they were the same ones we saw from the old apartment. Ambria said we’re about a mile from there. Emily said the fireworks there were at a soccer field. She told about going to see them. She said they went for about 5 minutes. She said the embers got outside of the “safety zone.” They’ve had trouble across Texas with fireworks starting fires. She didn’t get to see much.

Ambria asked her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said to call and write her when she can. Emily said she’s sure Ambria will be thinking of her on their normal call days. They said they love each other. Emily said she will talk to her soon.
