Emily asked what she’s doing. She just woke up from a nap. Emily asked if she feels refreshed or groggy.

Emily asked how school went today. Ambria told her she didn’t go today. Emily asked why. Ambria said “Um…” The call dropped out. Emily came back a few seconds later and then started breaking up again.

Emily asked if Ambria can see and hear her. Yes. Emily said she didn’t know what happened.

Emily asked if she felt OK. Ambria said “Yeah, I’m OK.” She said it was an interesting evening. Emily asked if that was today. No, yesterday. Emily asked if she feels like talking about it. Ambria asked if she wants to know. Emily said it’s up to her. She said it’s her decision and she will respect either one. Ambria told her she ended up at the hospital because she threatened to kill herself.

Emily asked if she can tell her what happened. After a pause, Emily said she doesn’t have to if she doesn’t want to. Ambria said after school, she tried to run away. She said she planned to come back but she needed space. She said “there was a lot of fighting when (she) got home,” and she got pretty upset.

Emily asked if she has trouble or gets bullied at school. No. Emily asked how she feels today. Ambria is tired. Emily said she’s sorry she’s upset and asked if there’s anything she can do to help her. Ambria doesn’t think so. Emily asked if she feels any better. “Kind of but kinda not.”

Emily asked if she was up late last night. Yes. Ambria told her we didn’t get home until 5:30 in the morning. Emily said, “Oh, yeah. That’s super late, isn’t it, sweetie?” Emily asked if Ambria would like her phone number. Ambria thinks she has it.

Emily asked if she had tests today. Yes, but she can make it up tomorrow. Emily said it would be OK. Emily said “I guess sometimes we say things we don’t mean when we get upset.” Ambria agreed. Emily said that it’s fine to get upset and that everyone gets upset. Emily asked if she would do it differently, would she? Ambria said she would. Emily said she thinks anyone would feel that way.

Emily asked how she got to come home. Ambria told her they had her talk to “a mental health person” to see if she needed to stay. They did a crisis prevention plan. They decided she didn’t need to say. Emily said she probably didn’t and that she just needed to go home and rest.

Emily asked why she felt like leaving was the best option. Ambria said she was having a hard time. Emily asked if there was anything she can do to help. No. Emily told her to remember she loves her.

Ambria said she should go. Emily said she can always reach out to her and that she wants to help her if she can. Ambria thanked her. Emily said she could email her and it didn’t matter what time. They ended the call.
