Ambria called Emily on Skype. Skype said she is offline. Ambria retried and the call rang through. Emily answered at 3:14.
Emily asked what she’s doing. She’s about to start on homework. Emily questioned homework on the last week of school. Ambria has a lot of projects. Emily asked about them. Ambria told her about them.
Emily asked about the independent living project. Ambria told her about the collage showing who they’ve been, who they are, and who they want to be. Emily asked what pictures she used. Ambria listed a few of them. She put Spongebob, Minecraft, and some anime she likes. Emily asked what she put for who she wants to be. Ambria put a picture of money, a nice apartment, and a fridge full of food. Emily said, “That works,” and that it sounds like a fun project. Emily asked what the rest of the class did. Ambria hasn’t seen them.
Emily asked if she’s drinking her Ensure. Ambria said it’s a protein drink but not Ensure. Emily asked why she’s drinking that. Emily cut out and said that New Jersey was calling her. She asked again. Ambria said to keep her weight up. Emily asked if the doctor suggested it. Ambria said it’s just easy and has a lot of protein.
Emily asked for a reminder who came over on Sunday. Ambria listed them. Emily struggled with the names. She asked what they did. They watched anime.
Emily asked what she heard about Sharetea. Ambria has not heard back. Emily suggested a follow-up call and asked who interviewed her. Ambria isn’t sure. They were at the store, but she doesn’t know their position. Emily asked if they were Emily’s age. They were young, but not as young as the people working there. Emily said people get into management quickly “these days.” Emily asked if she wants to be in management. Ambria just wants the job.
Emily asked how the French scavenger hunt around the Junction went. Ambria didn’t really do it, but it was “an interesting field trip.” Emily asked why. Ambria thinks it’s because the businesses thought they were all skipping class. Emily asked if the teacher was with them. Not while they were walking around.
Emily said the new cat is doing better on eating. She now eats 1/4 cup within 6 hours. She weighs 10 pounds.
Emily hoped Ambria will hear back on the job by Friday.
Emily asked how long Summer and Caimen been dating. Since October. Emily asked if they knew each other before. Not really. They all knew each other but not well. Emily asked if she has lunch with them. Yes. Emily asked if she sits with them during pep rallies. Yes.
Emily said it sounds like it’s been a busy week and will continue to be. Yes. Emily asked her last day. Next Friday. Emily said she will then be “12th grade bound” and asked if she’s excited about it. Emily asked if the seniors have special privileges. Ambria doesn’t see them because they do “running start.” Emily guessed that means they get there early and leave early. Ambria told her it means they do college courses. Emily asked if her friends are going to do that. Maya is doing full-time running start. Emily asked if that means she does full-time college. Yes. Emily asked about her high school credits. They come too with the college courses. Emily asked about Summer. She’s doing AP courses. Emily asked if that’s what Ambria is doing. Yes.
Emily said she’s good at French and asked if she’s good at conjugating verbs. Ambria has trouble remembering all of them.
Emily noted she has a Hello Kitty shirt on. Yes. Emily asked what she wears to school. A little of everything. Emily asked if she wears her black Vans. Yes. Emily asked if the spray stuff is still repelling. Ambria thinks it is.
Ambria asked her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said she will and she hopes projects and tests go well and that she hears back from Sharetea. Emily gave some explanations for why she might not have. She thinks Ambria should not worry about it and is “sure it will work out for (her).”
