Emily started talking but not loud enough for the phone to pick her up.
She asked how Ambria’s Friday was at school. Good. They had a vocab quiz in French. Emily asked if she did well. Yes. Emily asked if it’s more difficult than when she started. They do it differently in French 3. She described it. Emily asked how fluent she is. She can translate most things into French, but she has trouble translating in the other direction. Emily asked if she plays a lot of French TV. They have, but now they’re focused on vocabulary. Emily asked if she wants to use it in the future. Maybe. Emily thinks it would be neat. Emily said she has a bi-lingual academy nearby. Ambria has a friend who went to one. Emily said that’s a good think you can “set your child up to do.”
Emily is having tea this morning. Ambria hasn’t had her waffle yet. Emily is having blackberry tea. Her Keurig isn’t working. Ambria giggled.
Emily asked if she has any plans besides grocery shopping. Ambria wants to go get a birthday gift for Summer. Emily said she has a birthday every month, and asked what she’s like. Ambria said she’s mostly quiet unless she gets really excited about something. She likes anime. Emily asked her favorite. Ambria doesn’t know, but she likes Ouran High School Host Club. She used to like My Hero Academia but doesn’t anymore. She doesn’t like the fandom around it. Emily asked if Ambria would describe herself as generally quiet. Not really. Emily asked if she’s more talkative around her friends. Ambria said she will talk to anyone.
Emily said the cat is supposed to be eating lunch but is distracted by birds. She said the cat is raccoon shaped. Ambria said that’s funny.
Ambria told her they wore spirit colors yesterday at school to support Ukraine. Emily said that’s neat and asked if it was blue and gold. Ambria just wore blue because she doesn’t have gold. Emily asked if she wore jeans and if she does every day. Yes, but she doesn’t every day. Emily asked what the mascot was. Wildcat. It was changed about 20 years ago from the Indians.
Emily said she hasn’t made it to Sharetea yet. She still wants to. There’s a Salad and Go closer to her house that she’s excited about and a new pizza chain. She said it’s “real good.” She described it. She said it’s a “specialty” pizza place. Ambria told her there’s a special pizza place near here. She didn’t like it much. She likes more traditional pizza. Emily asked if she meant pepperoni and cheese. Ambria said it was interesting. Emily asked if she’s tried white sauce. Ambria said no.
Ambria asked if she’s told her they’re having field day at school. Emily asked what she’s going to do. Ambria told her it’s less like a field day and more like a carnival. Emily said that’s neat and asked if she’s getting in the bounce house. Yes. Emily asked if she’s not going to come out when Emily tells her to. Ambria said no, she wouldn’t.
Ambria told her Spring Break is about a month away. Emily asked what she’s going to do. She doesn’t have plans.
Emily said she’s going to see Reda sometime.
Emily asked what she’s getting Summer. Ambria hasn’t decided. Emily asked if she’s found neat clothes at Target that she can find anywhere else. Emily talked about finding clothes at Plato’s closet.
Ambria asked how Reda is. She’s “OK.” They had a guy come in to paint a picture with them. They were painting mountains and beach. Ambria asked her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said she will.
Ambria said she should go.
