Ambria asked Emily via Skype message if she could reschedule her mid-week call this week. Ambria had to go downtown for blood testing on Wednesday and wasn’t able to make the call. Emily agreed.
Emily answered and said she is outside. She said she went and got some vegan Mexican food. She said it was pretty good. She told what items she had tried.
Ambria told her she has chicken, beans, and rice. Emily asked if she made it or bought it. Ambria told her Tiffany made it. Emily said it looked good. Ambria told her she made some sriracha ketchup. Emily asked if she likes sriracha. Ambria said it’s a little bitter, but she likes it with ketchup. Emily said it’s sometimes too much for her. She likes it in pho. She asked if Ambria tried it that way. No. Emily said she should. Ambria likes it on chicken. Ambria told her we got another sauce to try with apricot. Emily said she had one with apricot and one with peach one time. She said it may not have been the same brand, but she thinks it’s similar.
Emily apologized for the outdoor noise.
Ambria said she doesn’t remember what the sauce was like. They talked about spicy snacks they like.
Ambria told her it was nice yesterday but cold today. Emily said it’s cold there – about 35. Ambria said that may be what it was this morning. Emily said it’s in the 50s now. Ambria said it’s supposed to be in the low 50s tomorrow. Emily told her the time changes soon. She said it makes her happy to have extra sunlight. Ambria told her we have 11.5 hours of sunlight. Emily said she guesses it’s the same for her. Ambria said she thinks it’s different. We have more in the summer. Emily said that could be true.
Emily asked if school had been “going good.” Ambria told her they started a budgeting unit in independent living. Emily asked what it was over. Ambria repeated “budgeting.” Emily guessed she knows how to do that. Yes, but Ambria has already learned a 50/30/20 technique. Emily asked if it was something. Ambria described what it is. Emily asked what she will save her 20% for. Ambria said just to have. Emily asked if she gets an allowance. No. Emily didn’t either.
Emily told her to hang on until a big truck passed. Emily asked if it’s loud. Ambria doesn’t hear it.
Reda said the Elvis impersonator is coming out. Emily asked if he will ask if she’s an angel. Reda said he might. Emily asked what she will say. She said, “Part of the time.” Emily said she might not get a flower if she says that. Ambria told her she has an Elvis poster and then remembered she had already told that.
Emily asked if she has homework. Some. Emily asked if she has math. Ambria will work ahead on a math assignment. Emily asked if she’s talked to Maya. Ambria helped her with the pronunciation. Emily asked what she’s up to. Not much. Emily asked if she gets out. Ambria doesn’t think so.
Emily asked about the boys. Ambria hasn’t seen Diego in a long time. Emily said he may have transferred schools. Ambria thinks he might have. Emily said it didn’t matter because she has Maya.
Ambria asked Emily to tell Reda hi. Emily said she would and she will tell her not to to get “snatched up” by Elvis.
