On Ambria’s first attempt, Skype said Emily was offline. Ambria called back immediately, and Emily answered.
Emily asked how she’s doing. Good. Emily asked what she’s having for breakfast. A waffle. Emily asked if she didn’t have syrup on it. No.
Emily asked how she feels. She’s OK. She had weird dreams. Emily asked if they were scary. No, just weird. Emily asked if they’re the kind you think about through the day. Yes. Emily said she has those often.
Emily got snow Wednesday night and Thursday. Not “huge amounts.” It’s melting now. Ambria said our weather has been the same as usual.
Emily asked what she did in school this week. Ambria said not much different. They started a movie in history class called Iron Jawed Angels. Emily hasn’t seen that one. It’s about the women’s suffrage movement.
Emily asked if she has the syllabus for all classes. No, they didn’t get one. Emily asked if there’s anything she’s looking forward to “doing or not doing” this semester. Ambria is excited about experiments in the chemistry lab. Emily said she never understood it.
Emily asked if she got a check with Hugh’s Christmas card. Yes. Emily asked if she’s going to cash it. Yes, she has a reminder set to do it. Hugh asked Emily to ask her.
Emily said the dog is still outside. She elaborated but much of her speech cut out. She said she would open the door so she can hear if the dog barks. Emily has to stay with the cat while it eats and it eats slow. She gets distracted easily. Emily began to mumble and the phone stopped picking it up.
Emily asked if she’s going grocery shopping today. Yes. Emily asked if we’ve ordered food from a delivery service. Ambria told her we got pizza last week. Emily said they have P.F. Chang’s To Go. They don’t have seating. She had a coupon so she got food there. She said it’s the same amount after you pay all the fees. She said “that’s how they get you.”
Emily got a couple of new types of birds. She put more seeds in the dish, under the tree, and in a birdfeeder there.
Ambria said Summer might come over today. Emily asked if she talked to her Wednesday. Ambria texted her yesterday. Emily asked if she plays video games. Ambria doesn’t know; she hasn’t been over yet. Emily asked if she plays Minecraft. Not that Ambria knows of. Emily said they could go somewhere. Ambria said she wants to get them bubble tea. Emily asked the name of the place close. ShareTea. Emily said she could go to Hiawatha. Ambria said it’s a bit cold.
Emily asked if she’s going to be in any clubs. Ambria doesn’t know. Emily asked if there’s a French club. Yes, but they don’t speak French in it. She said they make an Eiffel Tower out of marshmallows.
Emily said Reda is doing well. No falls or near falls. Ambria asked her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said she will.
Ambria wants to go. Emily thanked her for calling and said she will talk to her on Wednesday.
