Emily asked what she’s doing. She just got home from school. Emily said she’s talking into the phone because it’s storming and she’s in the car. Ambria asked if she can see her. Emily said she can. Ambria told her it stormed bad here yesterday. Ambria told her the power went out and they got out of school for it. Emily said that was “a little bit of a treat for you.” Emily asked when it came back on. Ambria said about 11am. Emily said it was out for a while then. Ambria told her it was out for about 3 hours.
Ambria told her yesterday she thinks the wind knocked the power out. She said they went to the store and it started raining hard while they were at the store, but it didn’t knock the power out. Emily asked if they got trapped in the store. No, they walked home.
Ambria told her she’s off tomorrow and Friday. Emily asked why. Ambria told her they had inservice on Thursday and a bunch of teachers took off Friday. Ambria told her they have to make it up. Emily said it’s been “a very complicated two days.” Ambria agreed.
Ambria said she’s working on getting her room put together. She said she’s almost done. Emily asked if she has a twin bed. Yes. Emily asked if she needs another sheet set. Ambria has several sets and doesn’t need more.
Emily said ”nothing much” has been happening with her. Panda’s eye allergy is better. The new cat is having a birthday soon. She’ll be a year old. Panda will be 7 in January and the other cat 6 in June.
Ambria told her they had two tests today: French-speaking African countries and a math test. Emily asked how they went. Ambria thinks she “did good.” Emily said she’s glad and that probably means she did great. They have a history test on Monday. Emily asked if they’re hard and how it works. There’s a vocabulary portion, multiple choice, and two short answer questions. Emily said it doesn’t sound “too bad.” If they do the study guide, they can retake the test. Emily said she would always do that ”just in case.”
Emily asked how she’s doing in drawing. Ambria told her Monday is their last class day to work on the self-portrait. Emily said they don’t have it every day, do they? Yes, they do. Ambria brought it home to work on. Emily is glad she’ll have some time off.
Emily asked if she’s played video games recently. She played Mario Kart and Mario Sunshine yesterday.
Emily asked if she’s hung out with Jacob and Diego. She tried to have Diego over to play games but he’s too tired. Emily asked if he’s the one taking college courses. No, that’s Jacob. Emily asked if they’re doing sports. Jacob did rowing until he broke his arm. Diego doesn’t do them.
Emily asked if she has her clothes moved into her closet. Ambria needs to organize them, but they’re in there. Emily asked about her desk and her shelf. Ambria still has the shelf. Emily asked if she’s still into crafts like she used to be. Ambria doesn’t have much time for them any more and prefers drawing.
Emily asked if she’s done more volunteer work. No, she hasn’t gone back yet. Emily asked if she’s already done everything she needs to do to graduate. Not yet. Emily said she still has a whole year she can finish it. Ambria wants to go back to the food bank ”when things calm down.” Emily asked if she needs drawing supplies. No.
Ambria asked her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said OK. Ambria said she should go. Emily told her to enjoy her time off and asked if she’s put up her lights yet. She got rid of them. Emily asked if she’s going to replace them. Ambria still has the galaxy lights. Emily said she will talk to her on Saturday.
