Emily asked what she’s doing. Ambria said she just got out of the shower. Emily’s video was very choppy. She was outside. She said it’s going to be in the high 60s. Ambria thinks it will be in the low 50s and rainy today. Emily asked if it will rain all day. Ambria isn’t sure. Emily said it rained there two days straight and she has to mow.
Emily asked what she’s been doing. Ambria said they just finished their first quarter at school. Emily asked if she got a report card. Grades aren’t final until next week. Emily asked how she did. Ambria got more than 100% on her science exam. Emily said she either got extra credit or the teacher goofed. Ambria said they have a math quiz next week. They have one every other week.
Emily asked what she’s doing in French class. They learned about languages in Africa, and they’re having a quiz on which countries speak French. Emily asked if there were a lot of French speakers here. Not that Ambria’s aware of. We have an international district, but that’s mostly Chinatown. Emily asked about her pen pals. Ambria emailed one of them as part of this quarter’s project.
Emily asked if she’s settled in yet. Ambria hasn’t had time to do much at all, but she’s going to this weekend. Emily asked if we’ve tried any of the new restaurants around. Ambria told her we went to A La Mode but Ambria always gets a milkshake there. Emily asked why no pie. Ambria doesn’t like the pie crust. Emily suggested it might be a texture thing and says it is for her. Emily told about a drive-through ”salad place” that has cheap drinks. She told about the food they have too. She’s excited to try a salad. She said they are $5.74.
Emily asked if she’s still going ”food shopping.” Ambria told her yes and that we’re closer to Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. Emily asked if we have ordered a holiday meal. Emily is doing the Whole Foods vegan meal. Ambria told her we tried a Whole Foods meal but not the vegan one. Emily is excited about the sides.
Ambria said they’re about to go shopping soon. Then Ambria will come home and work on unpacking. Emily asked if she has to get everything in her drawers and get everything put out. Yes. Emily asked if she has her desk set up. Ambria said it’s in her room. Emily said that’s the first step. Emily said she needs to get her bathroom set up. Ambria told her we’re getting a medicine cabinet. Emily said she could get those plastic drawers. She asked if Ambria’s getting that or one that goes on the wall. Ambria told her one that goes on the wall. Emily asked what color the bathroom is. Ambria told her the colors of her different decorations.
Emily asked if she has a second floor room. Yes. Emily asked what her view is like. Ambria has a view of the apartments next to us. She said it’s not ugly. Emily asked if she has a balcony or porch. Ambria told her we have a roof. Emily asked if we can see the water. Yes. Emily asked which body of water. Ambria isn’t sure which one. Emily asked if it’s Alki beach. Ambria thinks it is but isn’t sure which body of water it is.
Ambria asked her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said she would. Ambria said she could go. Emily wished her luck with unpacking.
