Emily asked what she’s doing. Working on homework. Emily said, “Don’t tell me you have math homework.” Ambria shook her head. Emily asked if anyone has cried over any more work. No. Emily asked if she got that one back. Ambria still hasn’t finished it. Emily asked how many pages it is. One page, front and back. Emily asked if the people who cried didn’t finish or if it was just that difficult. Ambria thinks most people are finished.

Emily asked if she just got home because she has her jacket on. Ambria told her it’s been cool. Emily said it’s been in the 70s where she is. Ambria told her we broke a record yesterday for the low temperature. Emily asked what it was. 37. Emily said she bet Ambria didn’t like it. Ambria agreed.

Emily showed her Dunkin’s Halloween coffee. It’s orange for Halloween.

Emily asked if there’s a Plato’s Closet here. Ambria said she hasn’t seen one. Emily showed her some shoes she found there. Ambria asked what size. Emily said they’re a six. She said they’re small but they fit. Emily asked what size she wears. Ambria wears five. Emily asked if she has the low tops. Ambria said she has some that are close. Something about the stripe is different. They compared the other differences. Emily asked if she still wears them. Yes.

Emily got her birthday list and said she should get some things in the mail. Emily said she can open them any time. Emily asked where to send them. Ambria said it depends when she sends them unless they will come after her birthday.

Emily asked if she made any more progress on her room. Not yet. Emily asked if she’s excited to move. Ambria said she’s not excited about packing and unpacking. Emily suggested she’ll be excited when she gets there. Ambria agreed. Emily said she doesn’t like “packing up stuff” either.

Emily asked how she’s doing in French. Ambria told her they did an in-class writing assignment yesterday. Today they did the PSAT. Emily asked how it went. Ambria said it wasn’t fun. Emily asked if it’s math, writing, and science. Ambria told her it was reading and math. There was a part called writing, but they just bubbled answers. Emily asked if it’s a “college thing.” Ambria told her it’s practice for the SAT. Emily asked if she will take the SAT. Ambria said all seniors take it. Emily asked if she’s going to take the ACT. Emily asked if she’s interested in going to college. Ambria doesn’t think she’s interested. Emily said it’s a “huge endeavor” especially if they’re undecided. Emily said you would have to start over if you picked the wrong major. Emily asked if she wants to pursue drawing. Ambria doesn’t know. She might do something with it.

Emily said Benny and Lolly are “doing good.” Reda thought she lost her gate belt but found it. Emily said she has two now because Emily replaced it. Ambria asked what it is. Emily said it’s a large belt with handles that makes it easier for people to help her walk. Emily said it makes it easier to pick her up if she falls too.

Emily said Birdie got “tangled up” in her jacket. She wears plastic covers on her claws. Those get stuck in things. Emily found her next to a broken mirror. Emily said she didn’t say sorry. She said she assumes the cat feels no remorse.

Ambria asked her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. She wants to go. Emily said she will talk to her on Saturday.
