Skype said Emily was offline. Ambria retried immediately and the call rang.

They wished each other good morning. Emily asked what she’s doing. Just finished showering. Emily asked if she’s getting ready for the day. Yes.

Emily show her a mug. She has two of them – one with an owl and one with a deer. It is heavy.

She weighed Birdie. Guess how much she is. 9 pounds. Her birthday is around the time of Ambria’s.

Emily asked what Ambria wants for her birthday. Ambria doesn’t know. Emily said to send her a list.

Ambria told her she’s going to get a COVID test today. Emily asked if she was exposed. Ambria got a letter at school that she may have been in close contact. Ambria knows she wasn’t around for long and had her mask on. Emily said she probably doesn’t have it. Ambria agrees but she’s going to make sure since she’s having her oral surgery Monday. Emily thought that was in October. Ambria told her we rescheduled it. Emily thinks Ambria will do “OK.” She asked if Ambria is nervous about it. No, but she probably will be. Emily asked if she has to have a negative test to do that. No, but Ambria thinks it will be a good idea since they ask if you’ve been exposed. Emily asked when she was exposed. Wednesday. Ambria told her there’s a place where you can do self-tests that opens in three hours. Emily asked if you just walk up and they hand you a swab. Ambria guesses that’s how it works.

Emily said Panda might cheer her up and apparently showed her to the camera. Emily said Panda was ugly so she probably won’t cheer Ambria up.

Emily said she hates Ambria was exposed. Emily thinks you’re always exposed when you go out. Emily said she’s 95% sure Ambria doesn’t have it since she wears her mask and washes her hands.

Ambria said she got all her work for Monday and Tuesday. Emily asked if she’ll be out those days. Maybe Wednesday too. Emily asked the doctor’s name. Ambria asked if she wanted the doctor’s name. Emily asked for the oral surgeon’s name. Ambria gave her the name and what she thinks the spelling is. Emily asked if she’s met him and how she likes him. Yes, and he’s really nice. Emily said she’ll be thinking of her. Emily asked when it is. Ambria said it’s in the morning. Emily asked what kind of anesthetic. Ambria doesn’t know. She said it would go in her veins. Emily said it sounds like he’s going to put her to sleep. Emily asked how she felt about IVs. Ambria doesn’t think she’s had one before. Emily said when she had hers, blood came out and got on my pants. Emily said if they’re good at it, it won’t be that bad. Even if they’re bad at it, it won’t be terrible. Emily said it’s been a while since she’s had one. She repeated that she’ll be thinking about her. Emily said she would send her “calming energies.”

Ambria told her they had their first unit tests in History. Emily asked how it went. Ambria thinks it went well. Emily asked if she had any tests Monday or Tuesday. Ambria has one in Math she will do when she’s back. Emily said that might give her more time to study.

Emily said Reda got her letter. Ambria asked if she liked it. Yes. Reda told Emily that she typed it up and Emily said that was a good idea. Ambria thinks someone told her to do it, so she tried to make it easy to read. Emily said Reda can still read. Emily said she used to have a bias against the left side, but it’s resolved a little bit and doesn’t seem to affect reading anymore. Ambria asked Emily to say hi and tell Reda she loves her.

Ambria said she wants to go. Emily said she would think about her while she’s having the COVID test and her wisdom teeth taken out. Emily said to let her know if she needs anything. She said she loves her. Ambria reciprocated.
