Emily’s video is not on. Emily asked what she’s doing. Ambria just made her breakfast. Emily asked what. Smoothie.
Emily is on her way to a water park called Hurricane Harbor. It’s a water park. She said she will avoid the thrill rides.
Emily asked how school is. They had pictures. Ambria showed her school ID which has the school picture on it. Emily said she likes it and thinks it is a good photo. Emily asked if she fixed her bangs “and everything.” Yes. Emily said she was always nervous for picture day. Ambria never had a problem until this year. She thinks it’s because it has been so long since she’s had a school picture.
Emily asked what she’s been doing in art class. Ambria told her about the city they’re drawing and showed her progress so far. It was hard to see because the lines were pretty light. Emily asked what it is. Ambria told her it’s a city and it has three buildings on each side. Children were talking in the background from Emily’s side of the call. Emily asked if it will be in color. Ambria doesn’t know. Emily asked if she’s going to like the class. She already does.
Emily asked if she’s going anywhere fun this weekend. She’s hanging out with Jacob today and maybe Diego tomorrow. Emily asked if they’re going to the park. Yes. Emily asked if they’re doing anything else. Ambria is taking her skateboard because she’s trying to learn to ollie and wants their help. Emily asked if they skateboard. Yes. Emily said that would be fun and give her a chance to practice. Emily is glad to hear “you’re going out and doing something.”
Emily asked how French class is. Ambria asked if she told her about the project. Emily recounted what it was about. Ambria said that was it. Emily asked if she has the same French teacher “all the way through.” Ambria has but you don’t necessarily. They just got a new French 2 teacher this year. Emily thinks she will maybe use French as she gets older, or maybe she won’t.
Emily asked if she wears all her gear when she goes with Jacob and Diego. Ambria wears her helmet on the street. Emily asked if Jacob and Diego are her age. Yes. Emily said maybe they could all meet sometime. Ambria has done that and thought about doing that tomorrow.
Emily said Reda said hello and she loves Ambria. Ambria reciprocated. Emily isn’t sure if Reda has gotten Ambria’s letter yet or not. Ambria thinks Brenda should have it.
Ambria searched for something to say.
Emily asked about math class. Ambria said it’s good. She’s started timeboxing their homework, and Ambria likes that better. Emily asked if they have to finish it at home. Ambria clarified she was talking about homework.
Emily said she broke out in hives over something. She asked if Ambria has. No. Emily said it hasn’t happened again so she must be OK.
Ambria asked her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. She said she wants to go. Emily said she’ll talk to her Wednesday, that her school picture is good, and that she hopes she has a good week.
