Emily said, “Hey.” Ambria replied, “Hello.”
Emily asked what her snack is. Ambria is having pretzels and chocolate hummus.
Emily said she’s going to tell her about some new food she tried. She tried some Dunkin coffee that tasted like dog food. She tried the grilled mac and cheese sandwich from Panera. It had “crunchy things” in it. She got an iced coffe drink that she showed off and said was good. She said Starbucks has an apple crisp macchiato that she wants to try. She asked if Ambria wants to try it. Ambria doesn’t think so.
Ambria searched for something to say. She ended up saying she’s been going to school. Emily said it was “always a plus.” Emily asked if she had early dismissal. Yes. Emily asked if she just got home. Ambria got home about a half hour ago. Emily said she doesn’t have to wait for the bus. Ambria said it would take longer to wait for the bus than to walk home. Emily asked if there are other kids that walk with her. Ambria doesn’t know kids that live here specifically. Emily asked how many roads she has to cross. 2. Emily asked if they’re hard to cross. One you have to press a button. The other doesn’t have hardly any traffic. Emily asked if she has trouble seeing traffic or the signal. No.
Emily said she hasn’t gotten the picture from the first day of school yet. Ambria had apparently forgotten it but told her it was the same outfit she was wearing on the call. Emily told her she would like a current picture of her. Ambria said she will take one tomorrow. Emily asked if she’s tried her spray on her Vans yet. No.
Ambria told her they have pictures next week. Emily asked what she’s going to wear. Ambria doesn’t know.
Ambria told her they got lockers today. Emily asked if it’s a combination or a key lock. Combination. Emily hates those and has trouble opening them.
Emily asked if she knows Halsey has a new album. No, and Ambria asked when it came out. Emily said the 27th of August. Ambria said she would look at it.
Ambria told her they started designing covers for their art portfolios. Emily asked if it can be any idea. Ambria said yes. Emily asked which ideas she came up with. Ambria said the favorite out of peer review was one with her name in block letters and checkerboard behind it. Emily noted Ambria likes checkerboard.
Ambria asked how Reda is. Emily said she’s “doing OK.” She said Hugh visited her recently. She hasn’t fallen. She’s still doing walking. ”That’s about it, really.” Ambria said she sent a letter through Brenda that she should get soon if she hasn’t already. Ambria asked her to tell her hi and she loves her. Emily said she will let her know.
Emily asked how French call and her pen pals are going. Ambria said it’s good and she has four pen pals. Emily said she will be writing all the time.
Emily asked about math and clarified whether it’s calculus or pre-calculus. Ambria said she is struggling with the review questions, but she got help. Emily said she would struggle to find the class. Emily asked how she gets help. Ambria got help from her advisory teacher since he is also a math teacher.
Ambria said she wants to go. Emily reminded her to take a picture and wished her luck on pre-calculus. Emily said she’s sure she will get it and corrected herself that Ambria probably already does. Emily asked if she’s still deciding on roller derby. Ambria said it hasn’t started.
