Emily asked what she’s doing. Nothing. Emily asked if it has rained today. No. Emily said it rained yesterday, overnight, and yesterday. Ambria asked if it’s because of “that storm.” Yes.

Emily complimented her nails.

Emily asked what else she’s been doing. Ambria finished her career class. Emily asked if they took a test or talk about what they learned. No. Emily asked if they get “some kind of credit.” Ambria said they send forms for them to fill out to get the money. Emily asked, “Is it money?” Yes. Emily asked how much. $600. Emily asked if it’s “just to use for whatever, whenever.” Yes. Emily said she would have done the course too.

Emily said she told Reda about Ambria’s electives. Reda said she took a photography class in the 70s and got to work in the dark room. Ambria said she doesn’t think they have a darkroom. Emily said that was “old school.”

Emily check to see if the squirrel was out. She thought he wasn’t because he would get wet.

Emily said she has 5 of the white lizards on the brick outside the door. She said there were two babies. Ambria said that was funny.

Ambria searched for something to say. Emily asked if school starts in two weeks. Yes. Emily asked if they’re in-person. Yes. Ambria said she’s been watching for a supplies list, but they haven’t gotten it. Emily said maybe she doesn’t need any. Ambria thinks they would have sent it by now.

Emily asked what clothes she’s gotten. Ambria got two shirts. Emily asked if they’re black. Ambria said one is and then corrected herself and said both were. Ambria said they were men’s button-up shirts. One has elephants and the other has Pikachus. Emily asked what kind of dress code they have. Ambria said you have to wear a shirt and something on your legs. Emily laughed. Emily asked if they can have nose rings. Ambria thinks so. Emily said that was “weird,” then she said it was just different. Emily described her dress code. Ambria said they just changed theirs to make it more equal for everyone. Emily asked if that was state-wide. No, it’s just Seattle public schools. Emily asked if you can dye your hair but not a crazy color. Ambria said you can dye it whatever you want. Ambria said you can’t cover your face unless it’s a religious thing. Emily said that’s “pretty much how it is here.” Emily doesn’t know what it’s like in Tennessee, if it has relaxed.

Emily asked if she’s been to the park anymore with her friends. Ambria hung out with Jacob and Kit on Sunday. Emily asked if they walked around the park. They met in the Junction and made their way to the park. Emily asked if she walks or takes the bus to the Junction. Ambria tries to take the bus, but she walks if she needs to. Emily asked if her dad goes. Not when she’s going out with her friends. Emily asked how long a walk. Ambria told her it’s a 20-minute walk. Emily thought it was a 5-minute walk. Ambria told her the park is a 5-minute walk.

Ambria said to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said she would. Ambria said she wants to go. Emily said she will talk on Saturday. She hopes she has a good few days and to let her know if she does anything fun.
