Emily tried super mega massive ___ (some kind of bubble tea). She tried the taro and it wasn’t sweet enough. The peach was just OK. It was called ___ monster milk tea. She said it was pretty good with a coffee flavor. She asked if Ambria likes a strong coffee flavor. Emily said it wasn’t too bad. She said she could tell there was coffee in it.
Ambria told her we went to Westwood Village. Emily asked what it is. Ambria told her it’s a shopping center and that we visited a nearby game store and went to Target. Emily asked if she played games. No, but she got a cinnamon roll. Emily asked what she got at Target. Ambria looked for a bathing suit but couldn’t find one she wanted. Emily asked what kind she wanted. Ambria said they just don’t have many in her size.
Emily had “one of those gecko things” visit her last night. He hid in the siding. Ambria said that was funny.
Ambria told her we’re having a picnic with friends who are moving. Emily asked if they’re moving away. Yes. Emily asked if it’s McKenzie. No, they are family friends. Emily asked if they’re moving far away. Yes, they’re moving to DC. Emily asked if we’re going to the beach. No, the park. Ambria said she has told Emily about them before. They’re the ones with the baby who isn’t a baby anymore. Emily said she remembers.
Emily asked if we have lightning bugs “up there.” Ambria said we don’t have a lot of bugs but she hasn’t seen lightning bugs.
Emily asked how school is. Good. Ambria is done with French for the year. They go back, but they’re just playing games. Ambria got an 86 on the reading quiz and a 100 on each of the others. Emily said, “well, good.”
Emily asked if she’s doing French next year. Yes. Emily asked when they pick classes for next semester. They did that a few months ago. Emily asked what she chose. Her electives were drawing and painting and she thinks photography. Emily asked if she has to take PE. Ambria is done with it.
Emily asked if she’s done with yoga. They have more of it. Emily asked if she feels strong. She feels more flexible.
Ambria said she had her last math test Friday. Emily asked how she did. She thinks she did well.
Emily asked if she has one more week. Yes. Emily asked what she has in the other classes. She has a plants project and a language arts essay. She’s working on her project in history. Emily asked what that is. Hers is how Korea went from Japanese rule to split and how we got k-pop. Emily asked if she likes k-pop. She doesn’t listen to much but it’s interesting. Emily asked if she’s heard the Halsey BTS song. No. Emily said she should listen to it. Ambria will look it up. Emily said she thought Ambria would know of it. Ambria has only heard one BTS song.
Ambria told her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said she would. She wished her luck in school and finding a bathing suit. Emily searched for something else to say and couldn’t think of anything. She said to go with bubble tea flavors she likes. They ended the call at June 12, 2021 9:09 AM.
