The call dropped out for some time. Then the call dropped altogether. Ambria called her back May 26, 2021 3:15 PM. Emily said she didn’t know what happened.
Emily asked again what they’re learning in Science. Plants and how they grow.
Emily asked if she wrote back to her pen pal. No, she hasn’t written a response. Emily asked if they have year-round school. Ambria thinks so, but she doesn’t remember. Emily doesn’t either.
Emily asked if the first or second shot hurt more. Ambria said the second hurt more but went away faster.
Emily asked if she has plans this weekend. No.
Ambria told her she went to the bubble tea place that has been closed when she tried previously. She told her she got peach milk tea with tapioca. Emily asked if it was good. Yes. She asked if it was peachy. Ambria said it had a weird flavor but she liked it. She said it had pieces of peach in it. Emily said she went to a place that put strawberries in it. Emily said she should try taro. Ambria said she will. That’s Emily’s new favorite.
Emily looked around at an Indian grocery store. She got instant soup. She gets soup at the Asian grocery store too.
Ambria told her there’s a world market. She’s not sure where it was, but they had foods from all over the world. Emily asked if it was near where we lived. No, Ambria thinks it was downtown. Ambria told her about the Japanese dollar store in the mall downtown and the Japanese bookstore. Emily asked what she got. Ambria just looked around. Emily said she should go back and get something. Ambria said she might enjoy it more now.
Emily asked if she’s worn any of it. Not recently.
Ambria told her about the new Anime she’s watching, K-On. Emily asked her to spell it. They finished the first season today. She warmed to it after the first episode. She told Emily it’s about a club that is a band.
Emily asked if she’s been doing yoga. Not as much as at first because we’ve been walking around and she’s used that as her workout. Emily clarified that you don’t have to do yoga. They have to fill out a reflection about what they did.
Emily asked if she will start taking the bus. Ambria might but there aren’t a lot of places she wants to go that she needs to take the bus. Emily asked if she can walk to both of the bubble tea places. Yes. Emily asked if there’s a book store nearby. Ambria told her the library is across the street. Emily asked if she checks out books there. Ambria did but doesn’t much anymore. Emily said she has enough reading for school. Ambria agreed.
Ambria asked about Reda. She’s “doing OK.” There’s a garden club but she couldn’t participate because she didn’t have her gloves and her old pants. Emily said that’s an option for her if she wants to go. Emily said Emily could probably go to the gardening club because her plants are still sitting outside.
Ambria told her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said she will and will talk to her on Saturday. Emily asked if she has anything fun coming up. No. Emily asked if they have end of year tests. No. They ended the call at May 26, 2021 3:26 PM.
