Emily said she is trying to walk around her yard to her front porch. She said it would be quieter. Her camera was not on. She turned it on. She asked Ambria to say something so she can see if she can hear her. Ambria said hello, and Emily heard it.

Emily showed the coffee she got at Dunkin. She was supposed to get cold brew but they gave her iced coffee.

Emily said it’s in the 80s. Ambria told her it’s in the 50s but will get up to 72. Emily said that was “nice weather for you.”

Emily asked what she’s doing today. Ambria is getting her second shot, and they have free ice cream for the first 100 people. Emily joked about her being the 101st.

Emily showed her hummingbird feeder. She said there weren’t any hummingbirds yet. The wind was blowing into the mic making it difficult to hear. Ambria said it was cute. Emily agreed. Emily said she has an ant moat to keep the ants from getting in. She got a slinky to keep squirrels from getting in.

She showed Ambria her herbs. She said she got purple basil that the bugs are eating. She showed cilantro and said it had “seen better days.” She showed oregano. She then corrected that she had showed thyme and this was oregano. Then she showed her “big boy” basil. She said that was the extent of her gardening.

She said there will be really fat cats walking around in the area. Ambria said this was funny.

Emily asked about school. Ambria said it’s good but they haven’t been doing anything interesting. Emily asked about yoga class and whether she had a month left in school. Emily asked if she has plans for the summer. Ambria told her Nana and Poppy are coming in July. Emily said, “At least there’s something planned.”

Emily asked if she will get to go to the beach. Ambria doesn’t know, but she remembered we are going to the beach for a barbecue with McKenzie and her family. Emily said that is good. Ambria said she thinks it will be in June. Emily said it will probably be after school is out.

Ambria said everyone is going back to in-person school in the fall. Emily asked if she’s OK with that. Yes, she doesn’t want to do remote anymore. Emily asked if they have the option. Ambria explained it’s still available but seems like it will be up to the school system to decide. Emily said she guesses Ambria would get lonely. Ambria said they “all just kinda sit there.” Emily said that’s not the same as getting to talk to friends and see them at the lunch table.

Ambria told her her advisory class is having a class kickball game sometime late May or early June. Emily asked if she likes kickball. It’s OK, but Ambria thinks it will be fun. They’ve had the same advisory for two years, but this is the final year with that group.

Emily said she had a question but lost it. Emily remembered it. Emily asked if they still have to do state testing online. Ambria doesn’t know. They didn’t do any last year and won’t this year. Emily asked if everyone just passes. Ambria doesn’t know.

Ambria asked her to tell Reda bye and she loves her. Emily said she would. Ambria said she wanted to go. Emily said she will finish her coffee. Emily said she will talk to her Wednesday and hopes she has good days at school.
