Emily messaged on Skype at April 21, 2021 2:21 PM to ask if she could reschedule the call to 4pm. Ambria agreed.
Ambria called. Emily noticed her bangs. Emily asked what she thinks about it. She likes it. Emily asked how she got them to curve just right. Ambria didn’t do anything special. Emily said you’re supposed to train it but hers never learned. Emily asked how she did it. Ambria explained her process. Emily asked if she’s seen the videos where people mess them up. Ambria said she has seen them. Emily asked how far back they start. Ambria showed her. Emily said they are thin. Ambria didn’t want a lot. Emily said she likes it and may get her to style her hair.
Ambria told her she got the gift card. Emily asked how it was picking it up. Ambria said they put it in the mailbox. Emily said she didn’t know how else to know it got here safely. Emily intended to send it for spring break but didn’t get it sent in time. Emily said it was for anything so she doesn’t have to wait for Emily to order it.
Ambria told her she walked to school today to pick up her math packet and books for French. Emily said she has to get too many math packets and asked about the books. Ambria told her the title of the class book and her personal book. She said it was a kid’s book. Emily said she could start there and move on to more advanced stuff.
Emily is going to Peiwei for dinner. She asked if Ambria has been. No. Emily said she’s been once and they have a kinda spicy tofu dish she likes.
Ambria asked if she wanted to see drawings and showed her the latest ones. She told Emily what she needs to do to fix him. She showed her evil Deku and Honey. Emily said Honey “looks about right.” Ambria said it was drawn from a reference picture. She was practicing shading. She told about the trouble she had figuring out what to do with his eyes. Emily said it was OK and that she could keep working on it.
Ambria told her it has been warm. Emily said it was 38 last night and in the 60s now. Ambria told her it was 75 on Sunday and about 70 today and yesterday. Emily said it was nice and asked if she’s wearing shorts. No. Ambria said it’s supposed to cool down and rain. Emily asked if she likes the rain. Ambria doesn’t mind if she’s inside but she prefers sunny. Emily said it makes her “gloomy on the inside.”
Emily asked if she’s going to trim her hair and make more layers. Ambria trimmed it a couple of months ago and doesn’t plan to do any more.
Emily asked about yoga class. The teacher did something funny on Monday. That’s when some others started in-person. She took the class outside and ended up disconnecting from the meeting. Emily asked if it was a free-for-all because she thought she was on. Ambria didn’t know what she was thinking. Ambria told her not many people are in-person. Ambria told her schoolwide it’s about 2/3, but her classes at 12/30. Emily asked what remote people see. Ambria said they don’t have everything figured out yet. They’re not learning a lot of new stuff.
Emily asked what class she’s missing. She figured out it was language arts. Emily asked if they’re still reading “that one book.” Yes.
Reda is doing “about the same.” She’s using a different cane. Ambria told her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said she will and apologized for the gift card arriving after spring break.
