Emily said she looks bright and sunny. Ambria said it wasn’t sunny. Emily said it looked like there’s different lighting.

Emily said Reda’s speech therapist said “she’s doing good. They’re still putting the electrode on her throat. She’s getting choked on water, and it’s getting into her lungs. They’re afraid that could turn into pneumonia. She’s not doing that any more. She does well with the electrode. They’ve increased the shock, which is a good sign. She has trouble swallowing pills and yogurt and other foods. They’re going to work on that next. The therapist told her Reda talks very fast. They asked if Emily has always done that.

Emily said her hair looks “exceptionally long and floaty today.” Ambria told her she didn’t do anything different.

Emily asked what she’s been doing. Ambria told her she’s been working on a new drawing and flipped the camera so she could see. Emily noted it was from a different angle. Emily said she should draw the bird guy. Ambria told her this is in her marker notebook. Emily said the outline looks brighter. Ambria told her this one is outlined in pen. Emily asked how long it took. Ambria told her it was probably 2 hours. Emily said she thought it might be 30 minutes. Ambria said this one took longer than some of the others. Emily said it “looks good.” She asked if Ambria will color it. Yes. Emily asked if she’s going to use a picture for reference. Ambria told her she didn’t draw this directly after another picture and did it from memory. Emily said “that looks good for doing it from memory and not from a picture.”

Emily asked what she’s been doing in school. They haven’t had live meetings because the teachers are getting ready for students to return to class. Emily asked if she still has to log in. Yes.

Emily told her it’s been very warm – 75. Emily joked that she had not done any walking. She said this is the time to do it since it’s not too hot. She said she might try to walk the kitten on a leash. She’s afraid this will teach the cat to run out every time she opens the door. Ambria told her she sees people walking around here with cats on their shoulders. Emily said her cat is too hyper for that. Emily said her cat got big. She licks Emily’s face when she wakes up.

Ambria told her it’s going to be in the 60s next week. Emily asked her plans. She doesn’t have any. Next week is Ambria’s spring break. Emily asked if she’s going anywhere. Starbucks. Emily said that counts. Emily asked if she will get her usual order. She might get a spring break treat. Emily said she could get one for now and one for later. Emily suggested a sweet drink to “sip on” throughout the day.

Emily told her again about the Panera coffee club she joined. She said she’s already tired of it. She said it’s a 6 minute drive. The one that’s further forces you to make it. At the closer one, they make it for you. She said it’s OK but not Dunkin. You can get iced coffee or hot tea. She gets iced coffee. She got hot coffee one time, and it’s “OK.” She got it with syrup. She had to ask for it. That was “offputting.” She’s not as excited about it as she was last week.

Ambria asked her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said she’s “doing good” and Emily “can’t think of any negatives.” She reiterated the therapy. Emily said she will talk on Saturday. They ended the call at April 7, 2021 3:26 PM.
