Emily said it’s not hot, but it was 65 yesterday. Ambria told her it’s cloudy and the door is open. It’s not cold. Emily said she likes when she can open the windows and door. Ambria told her yesterday is was sunny and in the 50s. Emily started to say something and cut out. Skype tried to reconnect her. She came back in about 20 seconds. Her phone told her it was a poor connection. After saying that, she immediately froze again.
This time the call disconnected. Ambria called her back. Her video was not on. Emily turned it on again. She immediately froze again and Skype started trying to reconnect her. She came back after about 20 seconds.
Emily asked about school. It was good. Ambria had a French test and a math test. Emily asked how she did. Ambria said she “did good” on both. Emily asked what she learned in math. They learned to graph and find details about a specific type of equation. Emily said that “sounds like it would kill (her).” She asked if it was hard or if she figured it out. Ambria said it took a while but she figured it out before the test. Emily asked if she did some practice questions. Yes. They have a review before the test.
Emily asked about the French test. Ambria described the reading and writing portions to her.
Emily said she has all the animals fed.
Emily was going to go to Trader Joe’s but didn’t. She asked if Ambria had. Ambria said it’s further away and we don’t have a reason to go there.
Emily asked if she’s still planning to do roller derby in the fall. Ambria said, “I don’t know. We’ll see.” Emily asked if there are more sports she wants to do. Not really.
Emily asked if she’s used her new markers. Ambria reminded her of the eye she drew.
Emily asked if she can hear the seagulls. Emily said she can. She asked where they are and what they’re doing. Ambria doesn’t know. Emily said she would trade her ___ for Ambria’s seagulls.
Ambria said in-person learning starts April 19th for 2 afternoons per week. Emily asked if she’s staying online. Yes. Emily asked what days they would be. Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday. Emily asked if her friends are going back. They did a poll in science and no one wanted to go back. Emily said that could be a mixture of safety concerns and just being used to remote. She asked if it was hard at first. Yes, it was weird. Emily asked if she still has a lot of homework. Yes, but Ambria will have a lot of time to catch up. They’re not having live class for the first few days.
Emily asked when they have a state test. Ambria doesn’t know. She can’t remember if they did them last year. They had finals for the first semester.
Ambria asked Emily to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said she would. Emily said they’re still doing therapy to help her swallow.
Ambria said she wanted to go. Emily said she would talk to her on Wednesday. Emily froze and came back saying again that she’d talk on Wednesday. They ended the call at April 3, 2021 9:10 AM.
