The call rang for over a minute. Emily did not answer. Skype said she was unavailable. Ambria retried immediately.
Emily said something but had very poor internet connectivity. It also sounded like the room was very echoey. Emily asked if Ambria could hear her. Ambria said yes. The cat was meowing.
Emily said she sees Ambria was having her water. Emily asked how to say water in French. Ambria told her.
Emily asked about the weather. Ambria said it’s a bit cloudy, but she can see the sun. She said it was sunny yesterday and the day before. Emily asked if she went outside. Ambria said she sat on the balcony.
Emily asked what she has drawn recently. Ambria finished the bird guy. Emily asked how she decides which to draw. Ambria printed pictures for reference. She just looks through and picks the one she wants to draw.
Emily said it’s in the 60s and she hears birds chirping. Emily said the squirrels there are different. She said they are “buff” and a different color. She said they “don’t show any fear.” She said there are rabbits that hop along with the cars. She’s afraid they will jump in front, but they don’t. They freeze when they see her dog. The dog doesn’t pay attention to them.
Emily told her a story about a snake she saw back in Tennessee that Panda didn’t notice. They laughed about it. Emily said the dog isn’t very smart.
Emily asked about her test on Thursday. Ambria said it was good. Emily asked if she got all the questions right. She got them all on the listening and missed one on reading. Emily asked which is easiest. The listening because the reading is confusing sometimes. Emily asked if she can use context to figure out what it’s saying. Ambria knows what it’s saying, but it’s asking something without a clear answer. Emily said that made sense.
Emily asked if she’s had a drink called horchata No. Emily described the drink. It’s some kind of rice water. She said it’s good and she thinks Ambria might like it. Ambria asked where she got it. She got it at a taco stand. She asked if she’d had pusa pusa. Emily said it was like a corn cake. She said she had beans and cheese last night with slaw with taco seasoning. She said the horchata tastes like Cheerios milk.
Ambria told her we tried to order from a taco truck for dinner. She told about the two failed orders and how we went to a closer restaurant. Emily asked what she got. A cheese quesadilla with chips. Emily asked if she didn’t get a different side. The kids meals don’t come with anything else. Emily asked if she just gets the kids meal. Yes, Ambria usually gets the chicken quesadilla, but she accidentally got a cheese quesadilla. Emily asked if she likes the rice and beans. She likes the beans but not the rice. Emily asked if Ambria likes rice with Chinese food. She gave some examples. Ambria said she does.
Ambria asked Emily to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said there’s something she wanted to tell Ambria about Reda. She said to give her a minute to think. She asked if she told Ambria she is trying to get the results of Reda’s test. Yes. She asked if she told Ambria they’re watching her eat. Yes. Emily asked if she told her they’re not doing more therapy. Yes. Emily said Reda loves and misses her.
The call almost dropped and came back. Emily said she would talk to Ambria Wednesday. They ended the call at March 13, 2021 9:11 AM.
