Emily asked what she’s doing. Working on math homework. Emily asked what she’s doing this week. Not a lot but she is having to redo some that she messed up on. Emily asked if that’s hard. No, but it takes a while.

Emily asked if she’s played more of her game. Yes, yesterday. Emily asked if she collects shines. Yes. Emily said she thought they were rays. Ambria didn’t get any more yesterday. Emily asked why. She’s stuck on a difficult one. Emily asked what you have to do to get one. Ambria described how to get the one she’s currently working on and explained why it’s hard.

Emily asked if she’s finished with her French pen pal. They finished the letters, and the French people are selecting who each of their pals are. Emily asked if she might not get a pen pal. Ambria explained they’re each just picking which person. Emily asked what grade they’re in. Probably the same as them. Emily said, “That’s interesting. I’m excited.” Emily asked if it’s going to “come over the computer.” Yes, and Ambria told her they’re writing in French and their pals are writing in English.

Emily asked if she’s done any skateboarding. No, but she did some drawing. Ambria flipped to the back camera and showed her the most recent drawing. Emily asked if her name starts with an “m.” No, it starts with an “n.” Emily asked for more of a hint. Ambria gave her one, but she couldn’t get it. Ambria told her. Emily didn’t recognize the name. Emily asked if she wants to color them. No, but she might draw more to color. Emily asked if she wants an iPad to draw on. Not right now. Ambria showed her another drawing. Emily asked. It’s the bird guy, Tokoyama. Emily asked how long each drawing takes. Ambria told her the last one took a couple of days in spurts. She thinks it took 2-3 hours. Emily guessed Todoroki and Toga took the longest. Ambria agreed on Todoroki because the hair was hard, but Toga wasn’t too bad. Her eyes were hard. Emily said the form of her hair would be hard for her. Ambria said she hasn’t drawn her like she did the others yet. She’s finding easy pictures of them, but the easy picture of her doesn’t look like her. Emily asked if she looks on the internet for her reference pictures. Yes. Emily asks if she’ll branch off into charcoal. Ambria doesn’t think so.

Emily told her Benny drew another of the family tree pictures for Reda. He also drew some mules for her wall. The family tree is framed. Ambria said he told her about it. He used pencil on one and charcoal on the other. Ambria said it was neat. Emily asked if he drew separate pictures of the family tree or if he copied one drawing. Ambria thinks hers was a copy. Emily would have been impressed if he did separates. Emily said he drew Volunteer pictures for her grandfather.

Emily asked about the weather. Ambria said it’s sunny and warm even though the temperature is 43. Ambria told her it’s going to be 60 on Saturday. Emily asked if she would go for a walk. Ambria said she might Ambria thinks she might go out on the balcony.

Emily said it’s 74 and windy. She said her hair “just takes off in this tornado.” Ambria said it was warm and windy when she went to Texas. Emily asked which city she went to. Austin. Emily said she hasn’t made it there but she wants to. Emily said she could move to Austin when she’s older. Ambria doesn’t want to live there but liked seeing it. Emily asked where she would live if she could live anywhere. Ambria likes warm places. Emily said she would move to Florida because it’s warm. Ambria would prefer California. She almost said she had never been there but corrected herself. Emily said she likes California too and thinks it would be different.

Ambria said she wanted to go. Emily said she would talk to her on Saturday and asked if she has any tests coming up. French. Emily started talking about the test and how she’s doing in French. She asked if the teacher is a native teacher. No. Emily asked how much of an accent Ambria has.
