The call seemed to ring through on Skype, but Emily did not answer. Skype said she was “unavailable.”
Ambria retried immediately and Emily answered at February 27, 2021 9:09 AM .
Emily asked if Ambria could hear her. Yes. Emily turned on her video.
Emily asked if Ambria has ever been to Einstein’s Bagels. Yes. Emily asked what she got. Ambria doesn’t remember. Emily is going for the first time and getting the cheesy hashbrown bagel. She gets a free iced coffee. She said it has no flavoring, so she’s “gonna have to work on it.”
Ambria told her we ordered dinner last night. Emily asked what. Ambria told her we got food from a burger place and she got a hummus plate. Emily thought she got a hummus burger. Ambria corrected her. Emily asked if it’s a local place. Ambria thinks there’s only one. Emily said Subway had a burger on a veggie patty. She said it was OK. Emily said she can’t get into hummus. “It’s too something.” Ambria didn’t like it at first but now she does. Emily has tried several varieties and hasn’t found one she likes.
Ambria told her she has a math test on Tuesday. Emily asked over what. Ambria told her unit 4 or maybe 5. Emily asked what that covers. Ambria said it’s y = ab + x and stuff like that. Emily asked if she’ll do school online next fall. Ambria doubts it but she’s not sure. She said they’re about to send back Kindergarten and 1st graders. Emily asked if that excites her to be able to go back. Yes, but she doesn’t want to if it’s dangerous. Emily said she didn’t think they could force you to do either one. Ambria hopes everyone will have the vaccine by then. Emily said it’s up in the air.
Emily asked how yoga class went. It was good. The video she picked had “a bunch of extra stuff like blocks and pillows.” She didn’t have the equipment. She used random pillows to make it work. Emily asked if it makes her more relaxed. Emily said she would be stressed trying to do the poses. Ambria said some are more about flexibility. Emily asked if she’s flexible. Yes but not as much as she used to be. Emily asked if she can still do the splits. Yes. She couldn’t for a while but started practices. Emily asked if she wants to take gymnastics if things go back to normal. She asked if Ambria wants to. Ambria doesn’t know any gyms and wants to go back to roller derby. She doesn’t think she would have time for both.
Emily asked if she’s been skateboarding. No. Emily asked if she has a parking space to skate in. We have two now but they’re indoors. She says it’s been too cold.
Emily asked if she’s done more drawings. Ambria got a lot of homework and hasn’t had time.
Emily asked if she’s played more of Mario Sunshine. Ambria wants to play it this weekend. Emily said she has to get more rays. Ambria corrected her “shines.”
Ambria said she wanted to go. Emily said she will talk to her Wednesday and hopes her math test on Tuesday goes well. Emily is sure it will. They ended the call at February 27, 2021 9:10 AM
