Emily asked how she is. Good.

Emily asked if she has taken out the trash. Yes. Emily has walked the dog. She’s having chai tea.

Emily asked if the Splatfest has started and asked if Ambria has played. Yes and yes. She was going to practice last night, but it had already started. Emily asked how it’s going. Ambria said she lost two matches but was the top player on her team. Emily said winning and losing doesn’t matter.

Emily asked what else she’s doing. Ambria has been getting ready for the end of the semester. Emily asked what that’s like. They’re doing projects in most classes and tests in some of them. Emily asked when it ends. Ambria isn’t sure.

Emily talked about one of the pets as it made its way into the conversation.

Ambria said they have their second big test in French on Monday. Emily asked what that entails. Speaking, reading, writing, listening. Emily asked which is easiest. Listening. Ambria explained how that part works. Emily tried to clarify how the writing ones work. They don’t do them on the computer. They write it on paper and take a picture. Emily asked if she calls on people for the speaking. Ambria explained how it worked in-person and contrasted that with how it works online. Emily asked for an example of what she’s been studying. Ambria told her one of their practice questions. Emily asked if she has French the whole year. Yes.

Emily asked about switching to yoga. Yes. Emily asked if she finished the woodworking project. Yes, she drilled holes in it yesterday. Emily asked if she used the safety glasses. She used her gloves. Emily asked when she turns it in. Ambria explained that they don’t actually turn in the object. They’re just submitting a picture and an explanation. Emily asked if she can use it. Yes. Emily asked what she’s going to put in it. Maybe some little succulents.

Emily reminded her she lost a plant and has now lost another. Her amaryllis has two blooms. One is drying up. She’s had succulents outside even though they don’t like cold. The cat tries to eat them when they’re inside. She said she’ll try again in the spring.

Ambria told her they had their third unit test in math. Emily asked if she didn’t have one last Friday. No. Emily said it may have been another time. Ambria told her this unit is short so it’s all been this month.

Emily asked if she’s talked to McKenzie. No, but she got a new dog. Emily asked if it’s a puppy. Yes. Emily asked what kind. Ambria doesn’t know. It’s small and light colored. Emily guessed it’s a medium sized dog. Emily asked if they played Minecraft. No. Emily hopes she can play some Splatoon today.

Ambria asked about Reda. Emily hasn’t heard anything yet. Emily doesn’t think she has the coughing or runny nose. She thinks she’s “doing pretty good.” She said she told Ambria she got out of the COVID unit. She thinks it’s been two weeks. Emily doesn’t know exactly how it works. Ambria asked Emily to tell Reda hi and she loves her.

Ambria said she wants to go. Emily took inventory of all the things Ambria had told her and got most of them wrong. She said she would talk to her on Wednesday and hopes she has a good week. They ended the call at January 16, 2021 9:10 AM.
