Emily did not answer Ambria’s first attempt. Skype said she is unavailable.
Ambria retried immediately. Her second rang for over a minute before Emily answered.
Emily asked if Ambria could hear her. Yes. Emily asked what she’s doing. Working on her homework. Emily asked what she’s working on. Science and history.
Emily asked what she’s doing in science. Learning about genetics, specifically how siblings have the same chromosomes but look different.
Emily tried some Oreo milk boba tea. Ambria said it sounds weird. Emily said she thought so too but it was very good. She said it had a lot of Oreos in it.
Ambria told her we had a wind storm that put the power and internet out. Emily asked how she did her school work. Ambria told her they canceled advisory but the internet was back by 10:30. Emily said it must have been a big storm to take down the city. Ambria told her about a picture she saw of a truck that got blown over. Emily said, “That’s some big wind.”
Emily asked her about the games she wants to play. Ambria wants to play the Splatoon Splatfest this weekend. She reminded Emily what the Splatfest is. She told her this one is Mario themed. Emily asked how you find out about the Splatfest. Ambria told her they announce it in-game a week or two before and lets you pick your team. She also told her about the shirt you get. Emily asked how many hours she usually plays the Splatfest. Ambria said she tries to play as much as she can but not too much. Ambria guesses she plays 2 hours over the weekend. Emily asked why not. Ambria said she didn’t know.
Ambria told her they don’t do Splatfests very often. She told her they do them monthly for the first year and then don’t do them often after that. Emily said she should definitely play and that it sounds like a lot of fun.
Emily said Reda is better. She had a cough, runny nose, and fatigue. Emily said she hopes Reda won’t get it again. Ambria said she thought you could only get it once. Emily said there are multiple strains and mutations. Emily read about a nurse who worked in NYC and Miami and caught it in each place. Emily said they don’t really know why.
Emily said it snowed there on Sunday. It melted once it hit the ground. Not as much as it would in TN, but it was some.
Ambria told her she started watching a movie when the internet was out this morning. Emily asked which one. Teen Beach. Ambria told her it was a Disney musical. Emily asked if she likes them. Ambria didn’t think so, but she guesses she does because there are a few she likes.
Ambria asked if she knows Descendents (not the band). Emily laughed. She does not know it. She asked what it is. Movie. Emily asked if she should watch. Ambria thinks so. Emily asked if it’s on Netflix.
Emily asked if Ambria has hulu. No.
Ambria told her what the Desendants is about.
Emily asked if she liked Malifecent. Ambria thinks so but doesn’t remember. Emily asked if she should watch them in order. Yes, but the 2nd one is Ambria’s favorite.
Ambria asked her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said she would and that Reda loves her and she (Emily) loves her too.
Emily said they would talk on Saturday.
