The call rang for nearly a minute before Emily answered.
Emily asked what she’s doing. Ambria said she just took out the trash, compost, and recycling. Emily asked if it’s closer here. Ambria said the trash and recycling are next door and compost is in the garage. Emily said that’s good since she wouldn’t have to get cold. Emily asked if we live close to the elevator or stairs. Yes.
Emily asked what she did on her room this week. She put up some posters.
Emily said she found a game that’s like picross. She did the first level but didn’t know how to finish any of the other levels. Emily asked if Ambria understands it. Yes. Emily said she must since she can play it. Emily described what she knows and asked for tips. Ambria gave her a tip for rows with multiple numbers. Emily said she understood and asked some follow-up questions. Emily said she will have to “look at it a little more thoroughly.” She said she hadn’t watched a video yet to figure it out. Ambria offered to look at a screenshot of it so she could help. Emily said she has trouble with 10x10. Ambria said she does 15x15.
Ambria told her she’s been wrapping presents. Emily asked if she likes to. Yes. Emily said she doesn’t like it. Emily said she hates trying to wrap and cutting the paper short. Ambria told her we’re wrapping them all and figuring out who they’re for when we open them. Emily said “that works” and “that makes sense then.”
Emily asked when she’s out of school for Christmas. Ambria doesn’t know. She thinks her last day might be two weeks from yesterday. Emily said that’s the “18th or something like that.” Ambria said that sounds right. Emily asked if she has a lot to do before then in school. Ambria doesn’t think they have tests, but they have other stuff to do like a quiz in math this weekend. Emily asked what she’s doing in math. Long-division on x - 2 / x^2 + 3x + 1. Emily said, “Oh my.” Ambria said it’s not that hard if you know the steps.
Emily asked if she’s taking yoga next semester. Yes. Emily asked if she’s taking any more foreign language. Ambria said they have to take full years. Emily thought it was two semesters. She asked how Ambria is doing. “Good.” Emily asked about woodworking. “Good.”
Ambria told her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Ambria said she wants to go. Emily said she will talk on Wednesday. They ended the call at December 5, 2020 9:09 AM.
