Skype rang for a bit and told us her connection was too weak. Ambria immediately retried, and Emily answered.
Emily was outside with the wind blowing against the microphone.
Emily asked what she is doing. Ambria said she took out the trash and recycling.
Emily commented on how windy it was. She asked what cereal Ambria is eating. Apple Jacks.
Emily fiddled with the phone. Her video was also going out periodically.
Emily said she got some chestnut praline cold brew. She asked if Ambria had tried it. No. Emily said it wasn’t that good.
Emily asked how school was. Ambria said it was good. They had a math test Friday. She was confused on one question but she thinks she figured it out. Emily couldn’t understand and asked her to repeat. Ambria did. Emily asked what the question was. Ambria told her it was a word problem. They had to find an X intercept, and it had a lot of decimals. Emily said decimals always confused her.
Emily said it was really windy. She asked if Ambria could still hear her. Yes.
Emily asked if she’s worked on her planter yet for woodworking. No. She got more things figured out but won’t start until after we move because she doesn’t want to have to move pieces of it.
The wind was blowing into the microphone. Emily showed the dog. She said there are dogs on a balcony that she’s not barking at.
Emily asked about the weather. Ambria told her there’s rain in the forecast for the afternoon. She said it doesn’t look too windy but is in the 40s. Emily asked if we’re going to move some small stuff today. Ambria told her we did a lot yesterday and made good progress. Emily asked if next week is the main moving week. Yes. Emily asked if we’re still going to be close to the grocery store. Ambria told her we’re a little closer to one and about the same from the others.
Emily said something about her volume. The sound cut out and the wind was blowing. She came back and said she thought she lost Ambria.
She said she needs to wash the car but that may not happen. She said it looks “like a big dust ball.” She said she really needs to vacuum the inside of it.
The dog started yipping. She said there was a dog with a high-pitched “voice.” It barks all the time. Emily asked if the new place allows pets. Ambria doesn’t think so. Emily said some stuff but we couldn’t hear it. Ambria told her the owner of our condo doesn’t allow pets but the building does. Emily asked what pet she would have. Ambria said a cat or bunny.
Emily said she forgot what she wanted to tell her. Ambria added a duck. Emily didn’t seem to hear that. The wind was blowing.
Ambria asked if she still calls Reda. Emily couldn’t hear her because of the wind. Emily said sometimes. Ambria told her to say hi the next time she talks to her.
Emily said they were supposed to have a “little outside meeting” but they had another employee test positive. They’ve called off all those events. Emily said she thinks she’s getting weak from not moving around. The call was breaking up and was difficult to hear. Emily said she thinks everyone is weaker “than they should be.”
Ambria said she wanted to go. Emily said she’d talk to her Wednesday. They ended the call at November 14, 2020 9:10 AM. After the call, Ambria said “goodness” referencing the call quality due to the wind.
