Skype said Emily was offline.
Ambria tried again immediately, and the call rang.
Emily said she sees Ambria has her warm jacket on. Yes. Emily asked if it’s chilly. Yes. Emily said it’s been in the 60s there. Ambria told her it’s in the 40s. Emily said Ambria preferred to be a little cool.
Emily asked how school was. Ambria said she had the day off today, but she’s had work to do all day. Emily asked if she had the whole day off or just the last part. Ambria said they didn’t have advisory but the rest was like a normal Wednesday.
Emily asked if she turned in her woodworking project. Ambria hasn’t built it yet. Emily asked if she can use glue. Ambria said she isn’t sure what she’s going to use. Emily said she’s sure Ambria will figure it out and needs to use the chisel.
Emily asked how the unit test in math went. That’s on Friday. Emily asked about the French test. They did the speaking part on Monday. Emily asked if she had to speak. They had discussions with their groups, and the teacher came to listen in. Emily asked her to say one of the things she had to answer in French. Ambria paused for a long time. Emily asked her to say a common phrase. Ambria told her they had to answer where they would want to work if they had a job. Ambria told her in French she wants to work at Target. Emily asked how to say red in French. Ambria told her and spelled it for her. Emily said it didn’t sound too difficult.
Emily said she found Panda a pair of dog pajamas. They have pumpkins on them, but she says Panda said “she didn’t care.” They have “little legs that goes down on her legs.” Emily tried to get the dog to look at the camera.
Emily asked if she’s played Fortnite. Ambria only played it the one time, but she played Minecraft. Emily asked if she still has the same mooshrooms. Yes, but she’s been playing in a survival world instead of on the server.
Emily said she was being attacked by the cat.
Ambria asked if she told her we got accepted for the apartment. Emily said, “Oh, did you?” Yes. Emily asked if she’s excited. Yes. She told her about the LED lights she’s going to have in her room. Emily asked if they’re LED string lights. Sort of, but they’re on a piece of tape. Emily asked if she’s going to hang them around the top of the room. Yes. Emily said that will look neat.
Emily said she heard an alarm. It stopped. She didn’t know if that was coming across the phone or if it was on her side.
Emily asked when we’re moving. Ambria told her we have movers on the 20th. Emily said that’s 9 days from now. Ambria told her we get the apartment Friday, so we’re going to start moving small stuff. Emily asked if it’s close. Yes, two blocks. Emily said that shouldn’t be too bad.
Emily said Pizza Hut has a pizza using Beyond meat. She said it was OK. She could tell it was fake meat. She said it was expensive – $14. She said she wouldn’t get it again. She also tried a vegan cinnamon roll with vegan cookie dough. She liked it but it was really sweet. She said it’s a good treat if you’re a vegan and can’t have a lot of sweets. She got it on a BOGO. She’s glad she didn’t pay full price.
Emily asked if she’s tried anything new. She got some snacks and candy for her birthday. She accidentally turned the phone off and had me fix it. She’s been eating some fudge.
Ambria said she wanted to go. Emily asked if it was good. Ambria said it was. Emily asked if it was so good it made her turn off the phone. They laughed.
Ambria told her again she should get off the phone. Emily wished her well in school and said they would talk Saturday. They ended the call November 11, 2020 3:26 PM.
