The call rang for a long time. It sounded like it picked up, but Skype said Ambria’s connection was too weak.
She retried immediately, and Emily picked up.
Emily asked what she’s doing. Ambria said nothing. Emily was outside walking the dog. There was lots of noise. Emily said it was a nice day. Ambria told her it has been cold. Emily said it’s in the high 60s. Ambria said our high is in the 40s today. Emily said it’s supposed to get cold there soon, so she wanted to enjoy it. She said Panda was walking around and eating mulch. The dog growled. Emily said she saw a German Shepherd that scared her.
Emily said it’s a nice day for walking. She asked if Ambria had breakfast. No. Emily hasn’t either.
Emily asked how school was. Ambria told her they started on their first big test in French on Thursday. They did the listening, reading, and writing portions. Emily asked how it went. Ambria got 10/10 on the first two but isn’t sure on the writing. Emily said she bets she got 10/10 on that part too. Ambria told her they’re doing the speaking on Monday. Emily asked if she has to speak into the microphone. Ambria doesn’t know. The teacher said some people already did that part. Emily said maybe she did it with them individually. Emily asked which part is hardest. Writing because you have to remember which direction the accents go. Emily agreed that would be hard.
Emily said there isn’t a cloud in the sky. Ambria started to say something and Emily interrupted her to talk about what the dog was doing.
Ambria told her they have their first unit test in math next Friday. Emily didn’t understand and asked her to repeat. Ambria repeated. Emily said she would do fine.
Emily asked if she’s made anything in woodworking. Not yet, but Ambria knows her first project. Emily asked what. Ambria told her she’s going to use the tub from the protein powder tub with cans inside it to make a planter. Emily said she had one of those and maybe she should have done that too. She said she would still kill it. Emily asked if she will use her safety gloves, hammer, and screwdriver. Yes. She also got a chisel and isn’t sure what to use it for. Emily said maybe he wants her to “chisel her name onto random things.”
Ambria said hi to the dog. Emily told the dog someone was talking to her. Emily explained that someone is moving in and Panda has to watch.
Emily asked if Ambria will go to Starbucks this weekend to get a treat. Ambria isn’t sure she has money left. She thinks she may not have any.
Emily said she told Ambria the dog hates happiness, recycling, cleaning… she gets very angry about sweeping.
Emily said she’s had a headache the last coulpe of days. She thinks it’s sinuses or allergies. She asked if Ambria has them. She thinks so. Emily said it’s not fun, but she’ll be alright.
Ambria said she wants to go. Emily said she hopes the speaking in French goes well. Emily asked about the Airpods, if they need to be returned. Ambria said no. They ended the call at November 7, 2020 9:10 AM.
