Emily asked what she’s doing. Emily was having some problems with the call. Emily switched something which started a lot of static sound, but it made the call work. Emily told Ambria it’s national dog day. She showed Ambria her grooming.
She asked again what Ambria is doing. Ambria said we’re going for a walk and getting dinner. Emily asked what’s for dinner. Ambria told her we’re getting banh mi. Emily said she’s had them a couple of times and thinks they’re OK. She asked if Ambria likes them. Everything except the cilantro.
Ambria asked if it’s the wind that’s very loud. Yes.
Emily asked about her necklace. Ambria told her it’s a tiny heart. Emily asked if she has plenty of money on her Starbucks card. Ambria said she has $19. Emily asked if she needs more. Not right now.
Ambria told her school starts next Friday. Emily asked if it’s online. Ambria said it will probably be online all year because they have criteria that must be met before we go back half time and that will take a while. Emily asked how she feels about it. Ambria said she’s upset that some people have to go and some don’t. Emily asked what classes she has this semester. Algebra 2, language arts, world history 2, biology, and French. She’s not sure about the other electives which were yoga and woodworking. She doesn’t think she can do woodworking at home. Emily said maybe she can do something different. Ambria thinks they can do yoga over video. Ambria said she doesn’t know how it’s going to work but it seems to be different from last year. She said they’re taking attendance. Emily asked if they had to turn on their camera for attendance. Ambria said last year not many people joined the calls. Emily said she hopes it works out. She asked if they got a supply list. No.
Emily asked which math she’s taking. Algebra 2. Emily asked if she had algebra 1 last year. No, she had geometry. Emily said it all runs together for her. Emily asked if she’s excited. Ambria is excited to see what it’s like. Emily asked how tutoring would work. Ambria doesn’t know. She said they had office hours last year if you needed extra help. Emily said she didn’t think that would apply to Ambria.
Emily asked how McKenzie is doing. Ambria thinks she’s staying with her aunt. Emily asked if that meant she hasn’t bee able to talk. No, she has. Emily asked if she got the minecraft server issue resolved. No.
Emily asked if she has makeup on. No, but the blinds are open. Emily asked if she’s gotten older. She looks older.
Emily asked how long a walk she will take. Ambria said we usually walk for a half hour. Emily said she takes about 20 minutes to do a mile. She was doing 4 but it got too hot. Ambria told her it’s in the 70s.
Emily commented on her Hard Knox Roller Girls shirt. She asked if Ambria’s team is going to restart. Ambria doesn’t know. Emily said “maybe they’ll be able to do something.” She asked if Ambria is still skating outside. Ambria said 1-2 times per week. Emily said that keeps her practiced. Ambria said she’s practicing skateboarding. Emily said “balance is balance.”
Ambria said to wave to Reda if she sees her. Emily said she would. They ended the call at August 26, 2020 3:23 PM.
