Emily emailed August 7, 2020 6:47 PM to ask if Ambria would change her call to August 9, 2020 9:00 AM. Ambria agreed.
Emily asked if she’s having some cereal. Yes. Emily asked what kind. Ambria said blueberry Cheerios. Emily asked how they are. Ambria said they’re good and taste kinda like Fruit Loops. Emily named a few kinds she has tried. Ambria said they taste like they could be another Fruit Loops flavor. Emily said she would try them and asked if they have a strawberry one. Ambria said she doesn’t know.
Emily asked what she has “on the docket today.” Ambria said she might go out and skate today. Emily asked if that’s just one parking space. Ambria said the two next to each other are always empty. Sometimes, all four are empty. Emily said she thinks it would be hard to skate in one space. Ambria said there’s also a ramp going into the parking that she likes to skate down.
Emily asked if she’s talked to McKenzie. Yes. Emily asked what she’s doing. She went to Montana with her mom, and her dad and step-mom took her to Wenatchee. Emily asked if that’s a water park. No, it’s a town.
Emily asked if Ambria has been tubing. Yes. Emily said she went in Townsend. Ambria said she went at camp. Emily said there was a snake in the water when she went that turned out to be a stick. Emily tried to keep cool to avoid jumping off her tube. Ambria told a story about a friend saying there was a snake in a bush near her at school. Ambria jumped before the friend said it was just a bunny.
Ambria asked what kind of tubing she did. Ambria asked if it was hooked to a boat. Emily said she just rode the tube down the river. Ambria said she did tubing pulled by a boat. Emily asked if she fell off. No.
Emily said she jumped off a cliff and went very deep into the water one time. Ambria said when she goes off diving boards, she starts paddling as soon as she goes in so she doesn’t go down too much. Emily said she needs to take that tip.
Emily asked when the school year starts. September. Ambria said it’s all online. Emily asked if that’s for the whole year. Ambria doesn’t think it will be the whole year. Emily said they might see how things are going the first semester. She asked what Ambria prefers. Ambria would like to go in-person if she doesn’t have to worry about being sick. Emily hopes since they’ve had some time to plan, remote will be better this time. Ambria told her they gave a lot of surveys at the end of the year. Emily asked if they have to read the lessons and do the work themselves. Ambria said each teacher did it differently. In math, they had pre-recorded videos. In French, they had some recorded lessons. Other teachers had calls they could attend for help. Emily hopes this semester will be better. She said it must be hard going to school like that. Ambria agreed.
Ambria said if Emily goes to see Reda to wave at her for her. Emily said she did and Reda said to tell Ambria that she loves Ambria more than Ambria loves her. Emily editorialized that “you can’t argue with that.”
