Emily didn’t answer Ambria’s first attempt to call. Skype said she was offline.
Ambria called back at June 17, 2020 5:33 PM. Emily was online and answered. She asked what Ambria is doing. Ambria told her she just had dinner. Emily asked what. Ambria told her vegan Hamburger Helper with meat. Emily said “That’s the best of both worlds.”
The call dropped for a long time. It came back and Emily asked if Ambria could hear her.
Ambria said she thinks they’re doing the roller derby workout online today. Emily asked if they were just taking a break. Ambria thinks they tried to do them in person and no one showed.
Emily said it hailed there today. She said it’s a bad day for her plants. Ambria said, “That’s not good.” She said it happened quickly. The plants are still alive but they look bad. Ambria said it hailed here a few weeks ago for a couple of minutes. She said it was small hail and wasn’t much. Emily asked if there was anything outside. Yes, but it was fine. Emily said she might bring her stuff up here.
Ambria told her she did her end-of-year project for history. Emily asked what it was. Ambria told her it was about the spread of Islam and the effects of it in Africa. Emily asked what she found out. It spread through trade routes because Muslim traders went to other towns and taught people about it. Some rulers made it their official religion. Emily asked how it was delivered. It was a PowerPoint presentation but they didn’t have to present it.
Emily asked what classes she has left. Ambria thought about it. She has one other small thing to do for history, maybe something for language arts but she isn’t sure it’s graded. That’s all. Emily said something about her final grades.
Emily asked what games she’s been playing. She asked how many babies she has in the Sims. Ambria said she has 6 or 7. Ambria said she hasn’t played since Saturday. Emily asked about Duolingo. Ambria’s streak is 94 days. Emily’s is one. She keeps forgetting. She only does one lesson. Ambria tried to do more because she doesn’t think she will make progress with one. Emily is still in introductions.
Emily asked if everything else is “going good.” Yes. Emily told Ambria she went to a waterfall over the weekend. She told about the obstacles she had to cross to get there. She said it was really hard and her joints are sore. She wants to go to one called Fall Creek Falls. It’s an hour southwest. She asked if Ambria liked to see things like that. Emily thinks she would have liked going. She asked if Ambria likes to climb things “like a mountain goat.” Yes.
Ambria asked Emily to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said the number of cases in Hamblen County went up. She thinks that’s the case across Tennessee. Reda is doing therapy and getting stronger. Emily thinks that’s a good thing.
Ambria said she wants to go. They ended the call at June 17, 2020 5:43 PM.
