They told each other good morning. Emily asked if she’s having oatmeal or cereal. Cereal. Emily asked what kind. ?
Emily thanked her for the cards. Ambria said she put Reda’s in the mail yesterday. Emily asked if Ambria made the paper. Ambria has a notebook of marbled construction paper. Emily asked if she used the special scissors to make the border. No, she did it by hand. Emily asked if it hurt her hand. Yes. Ambria said it was bad at the bottom and got better at the top. Emily said the dog was eating her pants.
Emily asked if Ambria hears the dog snorting. The dog started growling. Emily got her for the camera. Ambria said hi.
Emily asked what she had done. Ambria told her we got boxes yesterday. Ambria packed a box for her room. Emily asked if it was hard to get everything to fit. Ambria hasn’t packed everything yet, but she thinks she did “pretty good.” Emily asked if she’s excited and if it’s next week. “Mmm hmm.” Ambria told her we’re taking some stuff over that won’t fit in boxes. Emily asked how far a drive it is. Ambria said it’s not very far; probably 10 minutes drive.
Emily said she likes the cup Ambria is eating cereal from.
Emily asked if school is still going. Yes, and they had to write an essay for history. Emily asked about that. They had to read documents and write to a prompt. It was about the crusades. Emily asked when it will be graded. Ambria doesn’t know. Emily asked if there’s a word of paragraph minimum. Ambria said hers is 5 paragraphs. Emily asked if it’s hard to write stuff like that. Ambria said she’s better at writing the topic sentences and finding evidence. She has trouble with intros and conclusions. Emily said you just have to sort through the facts but the intro and conclusion is “all on you.”
They talked more about the noises the dog is making. Emily said the dog wishes it were scary.
Ambria told her she keeps forgetting to water her plants. She thinks they’re doing OK, but they’re not growing yet. Emily said it’s been in the 40s, so she brings her plants in at night. She takes them back out during the day and the wind blows them over which causes her to lose some soil.
She hasn’t gotten to walk since it’s been rainy or the park has been “desolate.” Ambria told her it has been really nice. It’s not cloudy and sunny. Ambria just took out the trash and it felt like it was in the low 60s or mid 60s. Emily said she went to walk yesterday (didn’t make it). The neighbor dog Dylan was walking. The woman said it was freezing out. She was wearing a scarf and toboggan even though it wasn’t that cold. She hopes it’s nice out today.
She asked if Ambria is going to move her plants. Probably next weekend. Emily asked what water she uses. Tap. Emily said you’re supposed to leave water out for 24 hours to let the chemicals evaporate. She doesn’t know if it helps, but it’s easy for her to do so she does it.
Ambria told her she needs to go. Emily asked if she’s moving today. Some stuff. She asked if we’re getting a truck. No, a car. Emily said she’ll talk to her on Wednesday and thanked her for the cards. They ended the call at May 9, 2020 9:08 AM.
