Emily asked what she’s doing. Anything fun? Ambria said not today. Emily asked how the call with her derby team was. Ambria said the workout was hard but fun. They worked on legs and balance. Emily asked what if you didn’t have room to do the workout or exercises. Ambria said you can pretty much do them anywhere. Emily asked if they told them what the future was like. Ambria said it wasn’t lead by a coach. Everyone else knew the person but she didn’t.
Emily asked about school. Ambria said last week was spring break. They’re going to pick back up the way they have been on Monday. Emily asked if she misses going to school and seeing friends. Yes. Emily said she would too. She’s thought about how she would feel if she were Ambria’s age. She said she was out for 3 weeks one time and got bored.
Ambria said she’s been playing Mario Kart with McKenzie. Emily asked about Ava. Ambria said she didn’t answer when Ambria called. She might try again. Ambria said Ava never answered. Emily asked if she has her own phone. Yes. Emily guessed it might be broken or out of minutes. Ambria said it is cracked. Emily asked if she “raged and destroyed it” or just dropped it. Ambria said probably both.
Ambria said her Animal Crossing town is going well. She got her resident services building built and the town square is bricked now. Emily said she needs to get back to hers. She also thinks the Duolingo owl has given up on her. The last notification said they would stop sending them. She wants to go back to it though. Ambria said today will be the 35th day of her streak.
Emily said the hummingbirds will be back soon. She’s going to put out her bird feeder for them to ignore. She said everyone else has lots of them.
Ambria said it was raining this morning but has quit. Emily said it sprinkled last night but should be nice this weekend.
Emily asked if she’s done any more arts and crafts. Emily said she saw it and asked how she made it. Ambria asked which one. Emily said the mountains. Ambria said she didn’t do anything special. She said she tried adding the snow before the sky but it didn’t work well because she couldn’t see the white paint after it dried.
Emily asked if they’re doing anything different or interesting in school. In language arts they’re doing remote learning bingo. They can pick 5 things to do of the list. Emily asked about math and science. In science, they’re watching videos and reading articles. They answer questions in their notebooks. They take quizzes over the weekend on what they did in the last week. They have a learning tracker to show the things they understand. In math, they’ve been watching videos and doing worksheets. Emily said it “sounds like everything is going pretty good.”
Emily said she’s glad Ambria gets to play with McKenzie and asked if she’ll get to see her soon. Ambria said she lives far. Emily asked about Ava. Ambria said she lives close but she’s staying away from people. Emily asked if she’s gone anywhere recently. No.
Emily said things are about the same for her. Her neighbor walks the dog and it barks. Emily takes her dog out and it’s a disaster because her dog tries to attack the other dog. Emily takes her somewhere else instead.
Ambria said she wants to go. Emily asked if she’s going on a walk this weekend and if she’s thought about walking 5 miles with her. No. They ended the call at April 18, 2020 9:10 AM.
