Emily said good morning. Ambria replied good morning. Emily adjusted her camera and speculated that Ambria’s favorite part of her day was seeing Emily.
Emily asked what cereal she’s having. Golden Grahams. Emily likes them.
Emily said she’d had more “wildlife adventures” she can tell about. Emily walked up on some squirrels that ran across her path. The end. Yesterday it was windy. Emily was wearing pants and a jacket. She said it was in the 30s last night. She walked up a hill to a walking track. She was walking there, looking at the ground around her. She saw a “circular object.” It was a baby turtle. She picked him up and he didn’t move. He was dead. She said it was very sad. Her favorite encounter: she was walking around the water. There were ducks and geese. There was a dark brown animal. She thought it was a beaver. It went underwater and she couldn’t see it anymore. She saw it again recently and noticed it had a really long tail. It was a muskrat. It was swimming really well. Ambria said, “OK.” She said the muskrat’s tail was “so long.” He was nearly as big as her dog.
She asked if Ambria had any adventures. Ambria said no but it has been in the 60s. Emily said it’s in the 50s right now. They’re expecting heavy rains and tornados tomorrow. Ambria’s eyes got big.
Ambria told her she’s still playing Splatoon and Animal Crossing. Emily said she should paint her nails. Ambria has been thinking about it.
Emily asked if they’ve given more information about the school year. Not yet. Ambria said the principal sent out a video saying they still don’t know but students shouldn’t worry. They’ll tell them as soon as they know. Emily asked if that made her feel better. Ambria said she wasn’t worried. Emily asked what if you were in 12th grade and couldn’t graduate. She said it wasn’t exactly sad. Emily asked what if you were older and went back to school and worked really hard and couldn’t graduate. She said it’s “very strange.” Ambria said all the schools are doing online school, so everyone will graduate on time. Emily asked how they will do the standardized tests.
Ambria said a teacher sent a video of the governor talking. She said they might rethink how they do standardized testing. Emily said it might have an outsized effect on counties that have poor test scores.
Emily asked how she’s doing on Splatoon and Animal Crossing. Ambria said she’s level 26 in Splatoon and has 3 new people moving in on Animal Crossing. Emily said she just has a tent. Emily asked how she’s doing in Duolingo. Ambria said she hasn’t broken her streak for 27 days. Emily said she was doing well with a 14-day streak. She broke it. She has a bunch of gems she’s not spending. Ambria asked how many. Emily told her 700. Ambria has 400 or something. Emily asked if she skips the levels. Ambria said no. Emily said she doesn’t either.
Ambria said she wanted to go. Emily said they “just talked up a storm.” Then the call cut out. Emily said she would talk to her on Wednesday. They ended the call at April 11, 2020 9:10 AM.
