Emily asked how Ambria is. She’s good. Emily asked what they did at school. Ambria said everyone got excited at lunch because school is canceled. Emily asked why it’s canceled. Ambria said because of Coronavirus. Emily asked what that means. Ambria said they don’t know. Emily asked about roller derby. It’s canceled tonight.

Emily said school hasn’t been canceled in Tennessee. She said she hasn’t seen anything too abnormal. Ambria asked if anyone has it there. Emily said there’s something in Knox county but it must not be major because everything is still “running smooth” as far as she knows.

Emily asked if she’s doing anything different personally. Ambria said she washes her hands and uses hand sanitizer more often and we haven’t been going anywhere. Emily said she’s not going anywhere either. Emily asked if the stores are wiped out of hand sanitizer. Ambria thinks so but she hasn’t been. Emily said it’s hard to find toilet paper in Knoxville.

Ambria said they don’t think they will have to make up the time at the end of the year. Emily said that’s good since they would be going really late in the year. Emily said she would have to celebrate July 4th in the classroom. Ambria said her friend asked if they could bring fireworks to celebrate it. Ambria said they might have to make it up on Spring Break.

Emily asked how many confirmed cases are here. Ambria said a lot but only 1 in West Seattle and 1 student at a school 8 miles from here. Emily said, “We shall see, huh?” Emily asked if schools closed because of that student. Ambria said she doesn’t think it’s just because of that student. She knows they’re going to sanitize the whole school.

Emily said she’s going to have a lot of free time and maybe she can catch up on her games.

Ambria asked how Reda is. Emily said she’s doing OK. Emily said they’re taking extra care with the elderly, but she doesn’t know what’s going on there as much. She thinks she’s doing OK. She’s thinking about going to see her but doesn’t want to potentially spread the virus there. Emily said she needs to practice her left hand movement. She shakes Emily’s hand with it, and it doesn’t have much grip strength. She still doesn’t have strength to hold a cup with that hand. Emily had her walk recently, and she did well. Emily said she got around slowly. Emily had to guide her off ramps instead of steps. Reda forgets her limitations. Emily doesn’t want to tell her she can’t. She used to try to correct her, but she’s trying to be more understanding and let her “try to do whatever she wants to do.” Emily asked if that’s what Ambria would do. Ambria said yes. Ambria asked Emily to tell her hi and she loves her. Emily said she would.

Ambria told her they’re canceling Sounders games. Emily said she may not be caught up on her local news. Emily is glad she got to vote “before this started up.”

Ambria said she wants to go. Emily said she would talk to her Saturday. They ended the call March 11, 2020 3:24 PM.
