Emily asked what she’s doing. Ambria told her she just got home from school. Emily asked if it’s raining outside. Yes. Emily said it’s been raining all day there and last night. Ambria told her it’s been raining here all day but not hard.
Emily asked about health class. Ambria told her they’re starting their first project tomorrow. She doesn’t know what it’s about. Emily asked if everything else is “going good.” Yes.
Emily said she showed Reda her school photo, and Reda said she looked pretty.
Emily asked how practice has been going. Ambria said she hasn’t been going because she’s had a lot of homework. Emily asked about tonight. Ambria said she’s probably not going tonight. Emily asked if that impacts her ability to participate in the bouts. Ambria told her the rules around that. Emily asked if she will still get to participate. Ambria said she doesn’t know. Emily asked if she’s had a lot more homework in the last few weeks. Ambria said yes and she is trying to get caught up on some stuff.
Emily said the cat is doing OK. She said she hasn’t seen Korra and Panda recently, but she will “get a bite” from them if she sees them.
Ambria asked how Reda is. Emily said she’s doing OK. She sat with her while she ate lunch. It took her more than an hour to eat. She had ham, peas, and sweet potato casserole. She ate “decently” but it took her a long time. She asked if Reda wanted her to feed her, but she declined. Ambria said to tell her hi and she loves her.
Ambria told her they started reading a new book in language arts class. Emily asked what it’s called. American Born Chinese. Emily said that sounds good. Ambria said it’s a satire. She told about the assignment they have done so far. Emily asked if the teacher gives quizzes over what they have read. Ambria said they didn’t do that for the last book, but she’s not sure about this one.
Emily asked if she’s still taking French and adding onto what she already knows. Yes. They are talking about the differences between high school versus America. Ambria listed off a few like longer lunches and variable schedule. Emily said all that “probably helps with their learning style.” She asked if Ambria has 30 minutes for lunch. Yes. Ambria told her about the specialties they pick and how all their classes center around that. Emily said she sees how that could be very beneficial. Emily asked what Ambria would pick. She doesn’t know. She said they don’t take classes for credit but to pass a test on their specialty. Emily asked if they do year-round schooling. Ambria told her they have longer breaks more often. Emily asked what she thinks. Ambria likes the way it is but can see merit in the other. Emily said you probably just like whatever you’re used to. Emily said if you have to study harder, it might not be a good tradeoff.
Emily asked when she goes back to the eye doctor. Ambria doesn’t know. Emily said she’s going back soon and needs to decide what glasses to get.
Ambria told her to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Ambria said she wanted to go. They ended the call at February 5, 2020 3:23 PM.
