Emily asked what she’s doing. She said she just showered. Emily asked what she has planned. Ambria doesn’t know yet. She said they don’t have school Monday. Emily guessed it’s because of MLK day. That’s right. Emily asked if she has school Thursday and Friday. Yes. They are having school on the day between semesters to make up their snow day.

Ambria said finals start either this Friday or next Monday. Emily said you’d think they’d know by now. Ambria told her they might change because of snow. Emily asked if she has Saturday school today or next week. Next week. Emily asked if they serve foods. Muffins.

Emily asked if Ambria knew that Halsey has a new album. No. Emily told her she has a new song and when she will be stopping in Seattle on her tour.

Emily said she’s holding the dog.

Ambria told her they have fitness testing next week. Emily asked if she has to prepare. Yes. She thinks they’re doing it on Tuesday. Emily asked if they’re through playing badminton. Yes, but they played it during free choice. Emily asked if anyone besides her had to quit. One of them kept missing and sat down.

Emily asked about other classes like physics. Ambria told her they’re at the end of the unit on sound waves. Emily asked if they have a final. Yes. The final will be mostly the sound waves unit test with some other questions from the other units.

Emily said it’s raining there. Ambria doesn’t think it’s raining but it’s cloudy. Emily said she doesn’t have anything planned.

Ambria searched for something to say.

She told about the presentation that will be part of her French final that she’ll have to tell their families in French. Ambria is afraid she will forget. They have to use the describing words. Emily guessed hair color, gender, role in the family. Yes. Ambria said they also learned words like hard-working, lazy, and stuff like that. Emily said Panda is lazy. Emily said they should just let you write it down instead of presenting. Ambria said they should present it one-on-one with the teacher.

The other part of the final is their big test.

Emily asked about language arts. They are writing essays about Raisin in the Sun. Ambria said it went quicker than she expected. When they read To Kill a Mockingbird last year, it took months. This one took about a week. Emily asked what else they read. Ambria said her book club read The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian.

Emily asked how geometry went. Ambria did well on a unit test last week and will be studying for finals next week.

Ambria told Emily to tell Reda hi and she loves her. Emily said she didn’t say any more fighting words about badminton.

Ambria said she wants to go. Emily wished her well on the geometry test and told her to enjoy being off Monday. They ended the call at January 18, 2020 9:09 AM.
