Emily asked what she’s doing. Ambria said she just got home from school. Emily asked how it was. Ambria said it was good. Emily asked what she did. Ambria said they had a map quiz in history and they’re working on a poster in science. Emily asked about the poster. Ambria said they have to make a PSA about why people shouldn’t get back in their cars when they’re pumping gas. Emily asked why that is. Ambria explained that it might explode. Emily said that’s what she had heard.
Emily asked what she’s snacking on. Ambria said strawberries. Emily asked if they came from Trader Joe’s. Ambria said they did.
Ambria told Emily she has derby practice tonight. Emily asked how it had been. Ambria said it had been good. They have their Halloween party this weekend. Ambria’s not sure which day.
Ambria told Emily she got a letter from Benny and Lolly today. Emily said that sounds like a fun read.
Ambria told her they have a test in French on Friday. Emily asked if she’s ready. Ambria thinks she is.
Emily asked if she still volunteers now that derby is on Wednesday. Ambria said no. Emily asked if she has to do it for school this year. Ambria said she needs 60 hours by the time she graduates. Emily said that shouldn’t be hard.
Ambria asked about Reda. Emily said she’s doing “pretty good.” She saw her over the weekend and took her Halloween candy since she enjoys candy. Her birthday is tomorrow. Emily got her a card and a piece of cake. Emily said she thinks she had fun. She didn’t walk much while Emily was there. She read Ambria’s letter and didn’t have trouble with Ambria’s handwriting. She misread some of the words but still seemed to understand it.
Emily asked if it’s been cold in the mornings. Ambria said yes, especially this morning. She said it warmed up at about noon. Emily said it’s been like that there too. It was 39 at 8:30am. At 10:00 it was 49. Emily said the leaves haven’t started changing yet. Ambria said leaves have been falling and the rain is making them mushy.
Emily asked what she wears for roller derby practice. Ambria said leggings and her jersey. Emily asked if the jersey is the same as last year. Ambria said yes. Emily said, so she didn’t change her number. Ambria said no.
Ambria told her they got a math test back today. Ambria got a 39/37. Emily said, “Wow. That’s good.” Ambria agreed. Emily asked about physics. Ambria told her they got back some work yesterday, and she got 5/5 on everything. Emily said that sounded pretty good.
Emily asked about the contacts. Ambria said she tried to try them on yesterday and wasn’t successful. She said we bought some contact solution and a case. Emily told her to keep trying.
Ambria told her her birthday is on Monday. Emily asked how old she will be. Ambria told her 15. Emily said she cannot believe that. She asked what Ambria has planned. Ambria said she’ll open presents and she’s not sure what else. She told her the party is on the 2nd. Emily asked about it. Ambria told her what it’s going to be. Emily asked how many people she invited. Ambria said 4. Emily tried to guess but could only get one. Ambria told her the rest. Emily said she hadn’t talked about them much this year. Ambria said they don’t have classes together. Emily asked if they still go to the same school or live nearby. Ambria said yes to both.
Emily asked about the cake and pizza for the party. Ambria told her. Emily asked if she’ll go trick-or-treating. Ambria said she’s not sure. Emily suggested she could go with those friends.
